I was passing through Brattleboro from Northern VT and got an inspection. Turned out I needed major repairs, $915 worth. I got those done a few days later, but when I got back home (2.5 hours away), it turned out that there was a problem with some of the parts used. I had to go back to a repair mechanic to fix that locally, and Dave refunded me the cost of the follow-up repair that I had to get done locally, plus we split the estimated cost of my time off work and being without car some more. Probably he lost money because he could not return the defective parts under warranty for a refund. What could have been really unpleasant experience for me turned out pretty good, considering.
