This place has exceeded our and our friends' expectations; and we have been a lot of places, but this one is a true gem

I gave you 100% of the money - you give me 100% of the amenities you promised on your website.
At face value - this is an awesome find if your only concern is the lodging. My wife and I wanted to do a day-trip to Lake Willoughby, and follow it up with one night in the area to reset. We found Burke Mountain Resort while searching for stays and thought the hotel would be a great fit for our 5 year old.
We started searching on Google and found these guys, and begun to dig a little deeper. The rooms sounded like they would fit what we were looking for, but strangely enough, they had no photos of their rooms, but they did have descriptions. We scoured other websites to get a sense of the rooms and their layouts, but there were no labels on the photos to tell us what rooms the photos were of. The ones provided are of the King Suite. It’s a separate room with the king bed, a living/kitchen combo with an excellent view.
The views are AMAZING, I’ll say that, but the amenities listed on the website were not accurate by the least.
- Arcade - They had maybe 5 of 20 machines working, with no prizes for points. When less than 40% of your arcade is functional, is it an arcade anymore?
- Hot Tub and Heated Pool - Hot Tub not working, no heat in the pool
- Coolers in gift shop were half stocked
- One person working front deck. KeKe was awesome, she deserves more money than what you’re paying her.
- Parking - Ambiguous at best. No direction on where to go. Parking was minimal for number of people staying.
If you’re going to run a hotel that is this nice, keep up with it. Lazy people are at the wheel and it shows. Get it together. This is a one of a kind attraction.

The place is in a great location and on beautiful grounds. The resort itself…we are VERY disappointed and felt that there were a lot of false promises.
ALL the games in the arcade were broken/ offline and the people at the front desk said there was nothing they could do.
The espresso machine at the coffee shop was down and the folks there said it’s been broken for a while.
The hot tub outside was broken.
It seems the staff knew about all the issues and just haven’t fixed them. The place needs some love.. There are probably more issues but those are the ones that were noticed that affected us personally.

I walked in to register, and after waiting 10 minutes, I was told by the women at the front desk that she did not know how to register a guest and that I would have to call.
Called and specifically stated I had a dog, when I got to the Hotel, they were surprised when I asked about my dog.
They had to change rooms as I was not given a dog friendly room.
The women behind the desk was not friendly and welcoming.
The bathroom had half a shower door and the room smelled.
The food sucked as well, rubbery chicken.
Will never come back.

Staff members at the desk are extremely dismissive and rude. Very lazy with no regard for anyone but themselves. Extreamly bothered if they have to move from their chair. Absolutely no respect or regard for people providing service. Unable to identify when someone is on a hands-free call. Management of this staff mirrors the staff itself.

Rooms clean and plenty of space. Pool is always closed and service is mediocre at best. Ski lockers don’t work and food is average. Small menu. No specials for new years until following day.

Got to our room it was going great until I was looking for my shoes, and I look under my bed and found a used container with mold and maggots in it. I didn’t say anything about it bc it could have been just a little mistake until 3 days later I go to make food, and I grab a pot and there’s ROTTEN FOOD INSIDE OF IT. That is unacceptable to be in a hotel that’s 365 a night and also some of the doors didn’t close fully. One of my chairs was broken I did report this and they gave me a new one which is nice but that doesn’t make up for the other things and this all happened in 2 of our rooms. Thousands of dollars for the stay, and yet somehow they couldn’t prepare the rooms properly.

Burke Mt Resort just hosted my daughter's wedding, they accommodated everything we needed with smiles and ease. Staff from every single department was amazing, helpful and pleasant, can't express enough how they went above and beyond to make this weekend wonderful. Thank you

No where near the quality for the price

This would be a solid 5 star with nice staff, location and room quality. But the door between adjoining rooms stops little sound or airflow. White noise can drown out the conversation next door but not the smell of what they are cooking.

This place is meh at best. Perhaps its incredible for scenery and star gazing when the weather is clear but otherwise it was lackluster.
The interior design work and furnishings clashed because the interior finished desperately TRIED to be upscale yet they couldn't be bothered to put a single chair in the room. Shower heads are positioned in such a way as to spray water all over the floor because of their open shower design. Fixtures for kitchen and outlets at 5able didn't work because circuit breaker was obviously tripped yet nothing at the panel was labeled and guests shouldn't be expected to play electrician.
Despite the hotel being EMPTY I had to listen to banging in the adjacent room all night. Non guests were routinely spotted sneaking into the hot tub.
The bar/restaurant was the absolute biggest disappointment with a whopping 12 choices for food but yet a lost of 30+ beers you can see their priority here. As for the food, steer clear of the wings, nothing takes as described as far as wings go. Mango jabanero was a dry rub that was more like curry and cinnamon. The flat breads sound exciting until you notice their topped with frozen vegetables.
Best thing about the entire stay was the maple balsamic salad dressing
