I considered giving 4 out of 5 stars because I thought it was strange that as a new client I had to send a photo of myself and a down payment at booking. But apart from that, I had a great experience. The salon is large and very nice, the staff was exceptionally friendly, and my stylist, James, was fantastic! He is a seasoned and professional cut & colorist, and was a great conversationalist. I highly recommend Indigo (and James) if you are shopping for a salon.

Salon is beautiful. You can choose a barber based on sliding scale of experience/$$. I went with a mid-level stylist for $42; was not displeased, but wasn't amazed. Content. And the salon is sooo beautiful, it overlooks the water and has lots of natural light! Also got a killer scalp massage.

Gorgeous views of lake Champlain while getting a haircut I always get compliments on and feel good about. After randomly being matched with Natalie K. I’ll always go back! Her natural artistic eye and great skills are amazing. I have straight thin hair and somehow now get volume and unique style bc of the short Bob like cut she gives me.

I am so impressed with everyone I’ve encountered at Indigo Salon. They are all professional, courteous, down to earth and incredibly good at their art! They stand by their work and want you to leave happy. I highly recommend Indigo as a go to salon in Chittenden County, they’re worth every penny!

James Nelson has been my hair stylist for some years. He is a real pro, an expert on color, highlighting, hair styling, and analysis of what works best for your particular "look" and needs. Furthermore he's smart and always fun to spend time with "in the chair." Can't imagine having anyone else "do" my hair and styling!

I really liked going to this place but I started to notice that the customer service was poor and my last haircut was terrible, they left my ends split and my hair was totally affected.
I do not recommend it for the future.

Worst experience of my life. Not only did it look worse than a five year old's attempt at curling, but my hair smell burnt for a week afterward. See photo below for my wedding hair trial after showing her Hollywood waves. I have never left a Google review but this one warranted one. Brides, steer clear!

I have curly hair and it was very clear that the person I had was not experienced with my type of hair. She cut it like you would straight hair which left me with jagged edges that I then had to cut myself when I got home. I think it is a good salon, just be weary of who's cutting your hair and ensure that they are familiar with your hair type. When I made the appointment I was told that they could cut curly hair and although this may be true, not all the stylist know how so just be mindful when making your appointment. This cut was also expensive for the outcome given that I had to cut a couple more inches when I got home to fix what had been done. I probably lost about a years worth of hair growth when I just asked for a trim.

I would honestly give a zero but that was not a choice. I made an appointment and the salon booked it for the wrong date. I did not receive any of the calls (they did not text) about the appointment as I was not planning on the appointment being as soon as it was. When I finally noticed the call 30 mins after said appointment, it was too late. My $100 deposit was taken. When explaining the situation and how I was planning on the appointment being days later as that was the time we agreed upon, they did not return my deposit or put it towards another appointment. I do not recommend!

I’ve been searching for a salon to go to for months and unfortunately the search continues.
I received a cut totally different than what I asked for. I’ve honestly never gotten a worse cut in my life. It looks…. terrible and ages me a decade. I’m almost in my 40s and needing to feel confident in my hair and I feel completely the opposite. I wouldn’t recommend this salon.
