I wanted to write this review because of the experience I had while trying to find my doctor’s office located next door in the Burlington, VT location. I just recently moved to VT from another state three months ago and I don’t live in the Burlington area. According to the notes I received from my doctor, I needed to type in a number on a keypad to get entry into the room. I saw a door with a keypad and tried to punch the number in when a blonde woman with curly hair came out. I tried to ask her if that door was the area I needed to check in with my doctor because I was confused and the appointment before mine ran a bit late. This woman yelled at me, very rudely, that the doctor’s office was next door. Then rolled her eyes at me and walked off. I hope that she can specifically read this to know that she needs to be much kinder to people who are waking through this oddly shaped common area. The doctors next door provide mental health services and there are people who would have been much more offended and upset if they had a similar reaction with her. Please offer a little more grace if you can if someone gets confused because they are not from the area. I will definitely be crossing this credit union off the list of possible options to use as well if this is the kind of “customer service” management or other representative provide.

Credit union, so I know their loyalties are to their account holders. Local, so I know the money they hold will stay within the region. They've been nothing but helpful any time I've needed anything. Checks all my boxes for a local bank, and their online account management is better than I would expect.

I had to set up a business account recently to take donations for a local ballot campaign. I've never done this before and neither had the employee I spoke to. I was working on a crunched timeline and the employees here seem to be juggling a million things. Despite all of this, Jacey went above and beyond to got us set up in time for our needs. Couldn't have done it without her!

I have been with this bank for yrs. My son tried to get a loan because his been banking there for awhile and of course run around and then they said no, not enough credit? How can a person build credit with the bank they join and say no to you. And when I called about a issue I had I could hear the customer service person sighing and a little irritated because I couldn't understand. Your employees need a training on being polite and helpful, considerate.

It's a bit heart-breaking to write this, because I love the idea of a credit union and the people I spoke with at VSECU were nice.But, wow, this is the worst business experience I have had in many, many years.The process of applying for a loan is so complex and arbitrary. Each person I spoke with gave me different rules and instructions. After several days of sending reams of financial data, I finally gave up and went with a commercial bank who gave me a loan at a much better rate and it took about 2 minutes.I had a lot of savings in VSECU and am pulling everything out.

I don't think I've ever had so bad an experience with any company. It's confusing because everyone is very friendly so you think it's a reasonable operation. But, wow, are they incompetent. They have the most arcane, bureaucratic rules. I spent the better part of a week and a half trying to get a car loan. I had more money in VSECU savings than the cost of the car, yet they kept insisting I send more and more paperwork. After a week and a half, I went to Citizens Bank and they approved me at a better rate in about 2 seconds. I like the idea of a credit union. But I am done with this one forever. I was willing to put up with a terrible website, lousy digital tools, and endless glitches. But this loan process made me realize they are just not a mature, healthy institution.
