About 30 miles into a ride, I blew out a spoke just as we reached Jeffersonville. Luckily, it happened 200 yards away from Bootleggers. They helped me out big time - replaced the spoke, trued my wheel and got my back on the road in time to catch back up to my group (albeit with a bit of redlining over the Notch). The store is also well stocked with all the essentials, and prices are very reasonable. A huge thanks again for saving my day/ride ! ?

It is such a pleasure working with Matt and his team at Bootlegger Bikes. He is so knowledgeable about all things cycling. We most recently purchased a kids bike from Bootlegger. We weren’t quite sure what our son needed but Matt took one look and knew what to recommend and had it in stock ready to go. Tremendous local bike shop.

For the first time, I recently had the fortune of building a bike up from the frame. Matt and Jon were super responsive and patient with my questions and took the time to discuss my options, preferences, and riding style. I never felt like they were "trying to move another bike." Matt is truly an artist building wheels - what a difference! I could not be happier with Bootlegger. These are genuine folks that care as much about you as your bike.

Buying a bike from Bootlegger Bikes was a great experience!I was searching for a specific bike and randomly found that they had one available. I emailed during their off hours about a sizing concern and Matt was quick to respond. I bought the bike online and picked it up a week later as I am a few hours away. He proactively swapped the stem to ensure a great fit from our previous conversation. I tried the bike out day of with another member of their team and all that was needed was a small seat adjustment.The shop was charming and stocked full of anything you might need. I was in the market for pedals as well and they were helpful but didnt pressure me in to a purchase. I ended up getting a set and they installed them while I was there.I will definitely go back when I am in the area!

I contacted Bootlegger Bikes through PinkBike about a Surly Ghost Grappler. Matt responded quickly and was flexible on pricing. After paying, the grappler showed up at my doorstep the following week, packed professionally and ready to ride with minimal assembly. They even threw in a free T Shirt so I could represent the shop here in northern New Mexico. The whole experience was great.If only we had a bike shop like this in Los Alamos.

Where do I start?I bought my first bike off Matt many years ago and slowly turned it into the bike that I wanted as I learned why I wanted out of a bike.This time around I had a pretty good idea what I wanted my bike to look like components wise. The only issue was this wasn’t going to be cheap and Matt was stoked to build it one piece at a time unfortunately unlike the Johny Cash song it was going to cost a bit more then a dime. So with Matt’s patience and my back and forth decision making skills over the course of a few months the War Pig was born. Matt and John’s wealth of knowledge was such a great tool for bouncing ideas around. Great bike buying experience! They are very knowledgeable about bikes and are willing to share it. I went in with questions and he took the time to answer and help me select the right one. He took the time to take measurements off my road bike and set up my gravel bike with a good baseline set up. I will be going back!
