Smugglers' Notch Base Lodge offers a vintage skiing experience with a great variety of trails and breathtaking views from Madonna mountain. The family-friendly resort caters to average and beginner skiers, though the directions on lodge and lift tickets could be improved. While the base lodge has been there for a long time, it serves its purpose, though the food can be expensive and mediocre, as is common for ski lodges. Despite the slow lifts, the resort boasts excellent grooming and no lines, even during busy holiday periods, allowing for long runs of over 2 miles.
Me and my friend came up from Pennsylvania and we had an amazing time. Great views and amazing trails. The only thing that sucks is the lift closes at 4:00pm. Other than that, it was a fun time. Definitely will come back up here this upcoming winter.

Great spring conditions. Plenty of snow and 2 lifts running on april 4th, black diamonds and blue trails.
