Overall, I cannot recommend Chester Inn enough. The combination of excellent service, comfortable accommodations, delicious food, and beautiful surroundings make it the ideal choice for anyone looking for a memorable and enjoyable getaway. I will definitely be returning in the future and I encourage others to experience the exceptional hospitality of Chester Inn as well.

Tyler said he would refund my reservation payment since I canceled within 12 hours. He did not.

We stayed here in July 2018 and I never reviewed it. But this morning I made a big, hearty breakfast for my son, and he mentioned how much he had liked the breakfasts at the Chester House Inn. So now is the time to review it.We had a very nice room with splendid decorations. We found the beds to be very comfortable. The sheets were the softest I have ever slept on! The owners were nice, and so was the dog. The humongous poppyseed waffles we had for breakfast were fantastic! The owner helped us with suggestions for activities in the area. We really enjoyed our stay.

We didnt last a half hour before checking into another place. What a waste of $400. The room was very crowded. You’d be lucky to even fit in the hot tub. The curst thing i noticed was a bug on the bathroom counter. The pictures on the website were complete inaccurate. I wouldnt waste my money on this horrible place.

I received several off-putting messages from the inn...beginning with the rate was higher than I booked it for, and I can “cancel if I want”, later, “we have a 2 night minimum but I’ll waive it for you” after I had booked a one night stay. No apology for the mis-information from Booking.com where I booked the room, just run-on sentences without punctuation. Several back and forths, and the inn literally told me to cancel, and made no effort to be friendly or accommodating. I’m very surprised the ratings are so high.

Nice cute old place. A couple things to realize is that you won't have your own thermostat. Our room was very hot and had to sleep with the window open... Which ended up being fine. Chester is cute and out of the way a bit but still close enough to okemo.

Enjoyed a great stay at the Chester House while visiting the northeast. Jan and Bob are very gracious hosts with time to talk and advice to give. The house is very comfortable and the breaksfasts are delicious. Good recommendations for trails, sites, and travel. You can't go wrong with these folks.

The location is great, easy to find, walk to shops and restaurants. But the Inn is desperately in need of an update. Our room was located just off of the living area and was very tiny. The bathroom was a nice size, but there is no place to put toiletries. The tub/shower is a claw footed tub and so narrow that there is no space between you and the shower curtain. Yuck. Breakfast was ok but our host was rather gruff and not really gracious as you would expect.

My husband and I were looking to book a romantic weekend for 2 for our first visit to Vermont, and his 45th birthday. I'd originally wanted to stay in Grafton, but they were fully booked up due to a wedding, and we opted for Chester, assuming it to be second rate in comparison, however still pleasurable. It was the weekend of the first day of Autumn, as well as the annual Chester Fall Festival, so the streets were aligned with local merchants. This actually was a benefit, as we were looking forward to checking out the local crafts and goods that were available for purchase. We expected a quiet, cozy inn and were thoroughly disappointed however, with the location of the Chester House Inn. It sits directly on the main road. The speed limit through the area is 25 mph, but it is not respected, and especially at night, you can hear the nonstop traffic going a lot faster. If you are expecting a quiet cottage, this couldn't be further from that. It's loud; and nothing about it screams 'romantic' or 'peaceful'. We had rented the Queen Charlotte room, which directly faces the main road and all of its flaws, including tractor trailers coming through. The entire reason I chose the Chester House Inn and the Queen Charlotte room in particular, above several other options, was primarily due to the availability of an in room fireplace. So you can imagine my disappointment, when upon entering, we find that the fireplace was not working in the room. According to the owner, this was a new issue with the fireplace, that started the day before. How convenient, right? Past reviews from others however, will show that this has been an ongoing issue with this particular room, and this fireplace. This is the value with reviews. It documents that even though this room has been advertised with a working fireplace, that is simply not the case. I think the appropriate move with the owners would be to advertise that the fireplace is not working, rather than lie and present it as a 'new issue', when in fact, that is not the truth. The owner did offer to allow us to stay in another room that had a working fireplace, but was "much smaller" according to him. And it did not provide the Jacuzzi, which is what we had paid for (a room with a jacuzzi and a working fireplace), so obviously we respectfully declined. It may not be a big deal to some, but again, this was the entire reason I booked this room at this particular inn. At first glance, this room seemed lovely. However, upon further inspection, we found out that wasn't quite the case. My husband, who is an extreme germophobe, immediately discovered hairs that were not ours, on both the pillow cases and bed linens, which made us question if the linens had been changed, since they'd mentioned they'd had guests that had just checked out the day of (or day before). There was also hair in the bathroom, between the vanity and the jacuzzi, that a quick sweep and mop should have cleaned up. I can almost guarantee based on our findings, that the bathroom had NOT been swept, nor mopped between guests. I have photos documenting the hair on the bed linens and the bathroom floor, which have been uploaded. In addition to the lack of cleanliness in our room, we found wallpaper peeling and an outdated bathroom (there is a difference between outdated and charming). It's as if they weren't even trying. I'd never met the woman of the house, but the man, although not rude, wasn't exactly friendly. As another reviewer noted, the fireplace was never once lit downstairs and there was never a welcoming atmosphere. We would later find out as the owner further talked, that they are trying to sell the place. He actually (likely jokingly), tried to talk us into buying it like a cheap salesman. I can't believe how much we spent on 2 nights at this inn! Definitely not worth the rate! What's worse is that our room rate of $328 for 2 nights did not even include breakfast?! What kind of "Bed and Breakfast" makes you pay extra
