“A beautiful curated store featuring local and out of state artists. A must stop when in the Chester area. It’s even worth the drive from the surrounding towns. We got this wonderful sculpture, Patrol, on a recent visit.”

“My son and I are on a quest to play mini golf in all 50 states. When we woke up the morning we intended to play in Vermont we discovered it was supposed to be raining all day. A lot of venues might close under those conditions, but not Mountain Man. I called and asked if they were open and was told it was raining on and off but I could try to play if I wanted to. On the drive from our hotel to the course, through some of the most charming rural towns you will ever see, a tornado watch was issued. Surely a collection of small buildings that appear as though they would fare about as well in a tornado as a trailer park would close under such conditions. No, the Mexican restaurant was doing steady sporadic business and the mountain man was happy to open up the mini golf shed and bring out the clubs, balls, pencils, and scorecards.
We began the course in a light drizzle after brief instructions and got through the front 9 before the heavens opened up and the deluge began. A few minutes into waiting out the rain under semi-cover my son and I ordered some tacos. I had mine al pastor and he had a carnitas. The tacos are the small street taco style, but ours were absolutely packed with meat and flavor. As we ate the rain broke and the Mountain Man took a broom out to brush some standing water off the back nine so it would be playable for us. This is the kind of service you only get from an owner/operator that is proud of his creation and wants other people to fully enjoy it. He escorted us through the back nine doing quick troubleshooting on the holes where necessary and with his help, we were able to finish our round.
This is not your run of the mill cookie cutter mini golf course. The holes are hand made with clay instead of turf. The cups are slightly larger than standard, which you will appreciate as the lighter than standard golf balls can meander a bit. The holes are named for their themes and shapes and the trees provide a good bit of shade and rain cover. The course is fun and challenging, but most of all, memorable. The owner is friendly and attentive. My family will be talking about our visit to Mountain Man Mini Golf for years to come. Thanks, Mountain Man.”

“This is just the cutest gift shop! Beautiful selection of jewelry, pottery, art, and curiosities.

I saw something here in December of 2025 and had to come back to purchase. The owner was so sweet in holding it aside and determining the right length.

If you need a gift or something to make yourself smile - this is such a gem. 💎”
