Mitch's Maples is a small, owner-run sugar shack in Chester, Vermont. It operates on a charming and trusting self-serve honor system, where customers pick what they want and send cash down a tube or place it in a hole in the wall. The establishment offers delicious, excellent quality maple syrup and maple cream at great, reasonably priced rates, often half the price of nearby stores. Visitors find it a cute, fun, and encouraging place that feels nicer and less commercial than larger sugar shacks. It is a perfect local stop for gifts or personal use, creating beautiful memories for those who visit Okemo or the Vermont area.
We stop at Mitch’s on every visit to Okemo. The syrup is delicious and reasonably priced. We love the self serve aspect and cute little tube for cash in the wall. Brings such beautiful memories of years gone by when so many of our local farms back home in CT trusted they could have a self serve stand.
