Elmore State Park offers a charming blend of overnight camping, a day-use area by the lake, and scenic hiking opportunities. The park features crystal clear water for paddleboarding, and the staff is friendly and helpful. Visitors can access the lake and hiking trails by paying a day-use fee, with the campground gate remaining open throughout the season, allowing campers the freedom to come and go as they please. The campsites are clean, and the grounds are mostly litter-free, though the park is a bare-bones, no-frills campground. Visitors have praised the great hike up to the fire tower and the lovely snowshoeing afternoon. However, some have noted that sites near the playground can be noisy, as the park does not allow dispersed camping on state land in Vermont. Overall, Elmore State Park provides a peaceful and scenic getaway, with a range of activities and amenities to suit different interests and preferences.
Beautiful views of the lake in the morning, and decent star gazing if the conditions are right!
