We stopped here on Sunday, October 12 around 10:30 a.m. hoping to grab breakfast, but unfortunately, it was a major disappointment. My wife placed our order, and the food that came out was undercooked and honestly inedible. While waiting, I observed the deli staff preparing food without gloves and handling various items unsafely. One of the employees even touched her nose before continuing to make an order.
The man behind the counter was also very rude and unprofessional, and to top it off, the coffee was terrible. This location should really be limited to selling gas, wine, and packaged goods—anything else is a health concern. The Department of Health needs to conduct an inspection as soon as possible. I strongly recommend avoiding this place for food if you don’t want to risk getting sick.

A prerequisite of a great town in the great state of Vermont is a great store.... and the Jay Country Store does not disappoint.

Happen to stop here for a quick bite to eat. I’m glad we did. Had a lovely, warm sandwich made to order. Kids had ramen from a cup. This place is a real gem 💎
On our way home, I grabbed to chili HOT TO GO!
