“1 year checkup success! He did great. The vet and staff are all so loving and supportive of the entire process. Louie loved his checkup. Who would have thought getting vaccines and getting a routine blood draw could be so much fun. Louie has a giant heart and the vet and staff love him right back!”

“We've been with River Cove now for over 39 years! Many beloved dogs through thick and thin including cancer, vestibular and other less critical issues. We were there back when Dr Ellis was the sole Doctor (and original owner) at this hospital, ...in its infancy. We've stayed with them all through their growth, while adding staff and new Doctors and new protocols and changes through new owners. We're still there! The staff is very accommodating, supportive and prompt to reply when we have issues and questions! They have text capability on their primary phone number! Nice, no missed voice messages and need to call back! We've seen new staff and new doctors there in an ever-changing animal hospital, yet, whoever is at the counter or replying via text, ...the support for pet and client has never diminished at all. It is always A+. Like many businesses now, they have policies that I am fine with in these ever changing times and do be aware that pet care now is very expensive, no matter where you go for quality care. Be prepared for that. Always good vibes at River Cove.........if they can take you on as a client, I highly suggest you bring your pet to them. they will not let you down. Doctors, Joel E. and Amanda L., Thank you!!! You are THE very best!”

“After a horrendous experience with a different local vet, I called this practice and they were nothing but welcoming and professional. They happily added my dogs to the patient list and I was super comfortable speaking with the person on the phone. She seemed to really care, set my account up quickly and even sent me a link to an app they they use to request an appointment, med refill, etc! I am super excited for my 1st visit in person!!”

“I recently had to put my thirteen year old blood red corn snake down. An x-ray showed he had a cancerous tumor. Essex vet informed me surgery would be difficult and expensive and would require a referral to an outside specialist. Even with the surgery, survival was not guaranteed. I could not have asked for a more caring and supportive team to help me through this process. I highly recommend this practice, particularly if you have reptiles. They are one of the only facilities in Vermont capable of providing care to injured or sick reptiles/exotic animals. No conflicts with scheduling, very accommodating. I was impressed with the cost of their services. They were very fair.”

This gave me so much reassurance that he was in the best place he possibly could be and I am so grateful for the referral to Peak!”

“It’s hard to put into words how grateful we are for the care our 19+ year old cat Riley received from Dr. Joel English and the entire team over the past 15 years. Throughout his life, we always appreciated Dr. English’s thoughtful, compassionate approach. He never recommended treatments unnecessarily and always took the time to explain our options, making every decision feel informed and centered on what was best for Riley. When it came time to say goodbye to our very loved little guy, Dr. English made sure he was there to help Riley pass peacefully. That kindness is something we’ll never forget. Losing a pet is one of the hardest things a family can go through, but knowing Riley was cared for by people who genuinely loved him brought us immense comfort. River Cove, and Dr English, thank you for giving us nearly two decades with our sweet boy. We will always be grateful.”

“We are so lucky to have a cat focused vet near us! Our older cat has always hated going to the vet and would become almost paralyzed with fear. Affectionately Cats has changed this experience for him through their cat centric practice. He now is able to get the care he needs in a calm, non threatening environment that supports all his needs. We are so grateful for this practice and their thorough care which has helped us navigate a tricky situation with one of our other cats. They consider all aspects of the situation, really listen, and care a lot!”

“I highly recommend BEVS!! Dr. Harnett and his staff are so wonderful. They truly saved my sweet girls life and treat her like a princess every time we walk in for a follow up. She was in icu for four days and they even covered her with a blanket knowing how she loves it.”
