Vermont Studio Center provides artists and writers from around the world with the time and space to deepen their creative practice while building a solid network of mentors and friends. Residency sessions run for 2-, 3-, and 4-weeks and include resident presentations, open studios, and an acclaimed Visiting Artist & Writer program. Nestled in the Green Mountains, Vermont Studio Center hosts a global community within a historic village. The walkable campus provides private studios, dining hall, and private rooms in shared lodging along the banks of the Gihon River. Residents can explore swimming holes, hiking and biking trails, as well as the rural charm of neighboring towns, while expanding their creative potential and building community.
VSC is a magnificent residency. The staff is fully supportive. The food is wonderful. That studios are large. It is self-directed. No judgements. I had a tremendous creative surge working 9 hours a day in my studio. Everything is accessible including town with its own well stocked art supply store.

Really unique artist residency program in a quintessential picturesque Vermont small town. Visiting residents, get to experiment and play in a multitude of mixed media. Supported by a staff dedicated to their creative process. Also the food is top notch local gourmet!

This is my second time as an art resident and I will keep coming back in the future. Gorgeous town, great staff, many studios are wheelchair accessible.
