I avoid this store whenever possible. Layout is terrible, with narrow aisles that cause you to stop every time you encounter another shopper. Lack of cashiers early in the morning means it takes me twice as long to check out because I’m scanning and packing everything myself. Prices high in general. I drive twice as far to another store to avoid shopping here.

Hilariously friendly staff, clean store, and easily navigatable. Great selections too!!! Make sure you go through Mary Lou's line, because she is the best!!

I'm not coming back to Shaw's anymore. Tried to stop in to pick up a couple of things and learned that I need to use their app to get prices that aren't ridiculous. Fine, whatever. I download the app, which takes 15 minutes because there is no mobile reception in their store. Finally get that done, along with waiting for the verification code to set it up. Go through the checkout line only to find that the digital deal isn't working anyways. How to get someone to manually enter it into the system. Then after they leave I realize there's another digital deal that wasn't captured properly because I didn't use their app correctly. Call for help again until because I didn't do it right I'm not going to get the discount. Find. Actually I almost walked out of the store at that point and figured it'd be faster and cheaper to drive an hour out of my way to go somewhere else, but I didn't and just paid and left without the extra discount. The minute that I left the store I uninstalled the app and I'm never going back there.

Shaw's is pretty much the only game in town. I think their produce department has done a great job since the re-organization of the store about 2 years ago. I realize that the selection of products are somewhat limited to what I experience elsewhere, but it is a much smaller market. The ONE major complaint I have is the incredible rude staff. I am always struck by the lack of attention by the check-out person... today I am bagging my groceries and it was time to pay my bill, however I had not finished bagging my groceries! Instead of helping me along, the check out girl just was chewing on her nails and not giving it ONE thought to help out! This happens all the time. It is a shame, because this store does charge premium pricing without the premium service....

The people that work here are unbelievably rude, you can’t even ask them for help. Yet for the exorbitant prices they charge, you would think they would at least bag your groceries. I will avoid this place like the plague, and will take my business elsewhere.

In a small town like Manchester, grocery options are pretty limited—it’s basically Shaw’s or Price Chopper. For me, Shaw’s is my go-to. I’m here several times a month, picking up the bulk of my groceries, while I usually only stop at Price Chopper if I need one or two quick items since it’s closer to where I work.
As a Maine native, I was surprised to see Shaw’s here when I first moved—it’s always been a familiar name to me, but I assumed it was Maine-only. That little bit of nostalgia aside, this location carries everything I need, and the deli section is my favorite stop. The fried or grilled chicken from the deli is consistently good, and I find myself grabbing it often.
For a small-town supermarket, Shaw’s does the job well—reliable, well-stocked, and familiar.
