Our family of 4 (adults) popped in here during stay near Okemo on a snowy Friday afternoon. It was not crowded so we got a great cheese tasting and education on the cheeses. It would be great if they offered wine to purchase or crackers with the cheese or even water to cleanse pallete between tastings.but we understand it’s a cheese factory not a tourist attraction.

This is the real deal for cheddar. It reminded me of being young at the local dairy growing up. Cheeses made with real care and very good choices. Real vintage part of a Vermont visit.

This was my second trip/tour there. The people are very knowledgeable and willing to share information. A worthwhile stop, plus excellent cheese.

I truly don't understand all the 5 star reviews. It's a tiny store with a bunch of overpriced jams, mustards, etc. Yes, they have free cheese samples, and maybe that's worth the drive for other folks but it was a waste of time and gas to me.Edited to respond to the owner: I was not looking for a store, I was looking for the experience you described below. There must be more than one location, because none of the "active cheesemaking" etc was available at the location I went to, other than one person working in a tiny and unobservable area lableled "employees only" that was clearly not meant for people to learn about cheesemaking. My one star was because it was ONLY a tiny store with overpriced items without the rest of the advertised experience. There were no signs indicating tourists were welcome anywhere on the grounds other than the store, and the employee was certainly not letting anyone know of the same. We spent quite a lot of money on non-mass market produced products at Billings Farm that same day, but then again we really enjoyed the educational experience they provided that was even better than advertised. So I do hope prospective visitors will see this and decide how they would like to spend their time and money.

They have amazing cheese! The staff is very friendly and gives you plenty of information on the products and the cheese making process. Unfortunately on the days we have gone they weren’t making cheese (dates posted on their website, so it was our fault) but they do offer a tour when they are making cheese or alter the schedule if you call ahead! We will come back every time we are in town!

This is a hidden gem off of VT 140! We saw the turn off on our way to Ludlow! During the week, the owner and lead cheese maker gives a tour of the factory and shows how the cheese is made! We visited on a Saturday so didn't get to go on a tour, but we got to sample several excellent cheeses (my favorites were the smoked and hot pepper cheddars)!!! Besides offering a large variety of cheddars, the factory also sells other Vermont made products! Definitely worth a visit!!!

Nice people. We learned a lot about digestive tolerances to different cheeses (look for A2 Jersey milk if you have issues).

Amazing cheese! Even petter people!I placed an order online before Christmas and didn't receive shipping confirmation, I reached out through Amazon pay and Galen was more than happy to get my information for me. A day after receiving my order, I opened the box to find that the items were not correct. Galen offered to fix it right away and apologized for the error. I should be upset for the issues I had, but I really can't be with how friendly they have been.

Amazing cheese at great prices. This is one of the oldest establishments in the area that produces some great cheese. We got the sage cheese and the habanero one. Both were great and we kept snacking on them. There are no tastings but can't go wrong in purchasing any flavor of your liking.
