About Goodrich Memorial Library
Goodrich Memorial Library is a charming and historic small-town library housed in a well-maintained 1890s brick and stone building. Its architecture and period details create an inviting atmosphere that reflects the town's charm and history. The walls and halls display a variety of town maps and regional history, making it a delight for history enthusiasts. The library offers a welcoming environment with friendly staff who are helpful and efficient, including quick service for library cards. The first level is small, while the second level provides roomy, comfortable spaces to explore historical items, exhibits, and enjoy reading or playing games. Though the second level can get warm on sunny days, the overall experience is relaxing and enjoyable. The library is a beautiful community space that serves as a proud symbol of the town's character and history, making it a wonderful place to spend time and connect with the local heritage.

First, Newport is a beautiful town right on the lake with spectacular architecture .. but the Goodrich Library is truly the gem of this lovely town!

A lovely space to spend time reading, playing games, enjoying the historic architecture, taxidermy display (!), or other small exhibits. If you are there for more practical purposes, the staff is very helpful; we were able to get a library card in just a few minutes and for a small fee ($10) since we live outside of Newport.
