Pick & Shovel is a local staple and hub of the area, more than just a hardware store. It is an "everything you need" shop built and run by locals, resembling a general store from long ago. The main store looks like a home improvement store with building supplies, lumber, clothes, shoes, appliances, and pretty much everything you could imagine, all at reasonable prices and good value. It has a great stock of just about everything, including maple sugaring supplies and souvenirs on the second floor. The service is great with friendly and attentive staff. There is also an amazing ice cream stand with everything under the sun, making it a perfect place to grab a soft ice cream cone on the way out.
It's like ACE hardware mated with Tractor Supply, Ben and Jerry's, and an Outfitter

Handy, little downtown place to find literally anything and everything! Lumber, masonry, plumbing, tools, hardware, clothing, local specialty foods, patio, pets, farming supplies and more! Everything...including the kitchen sink! Friendly, knowledgeable, helpful staff, too!
