“December 2025: Cannot say enough about this charming Inn. We arrived earlier than the designated check-in time but decided to go in to see if we could check in early. We went in to find out that they have been without power since the morning and were being told by the power company that it would be back on by early evening. They explained that the Inn did not have emergency generators so they were at the mercy of the power company. We were not phased by the news as we love adventures :) We were told that they were upgrading us to a suite on the first floor which is close to the sitting room with gas fireplace. It kept the entire first floor toasty warm. After going out for provisions, we returned and enjoyed reading our books next to the fireplace as we waited for the power to return. We stayed in the Gov. Aiken Suite; an enormous room with a private deck overlooking the lake. The room was immaculate. The bed was the perfect hardness and there were lots of pillows for adjusting to the perfect fit. We did not use it but there is an enormous jacuzzi tub set to the side in the main part of the bedroom. The ensuite kitchen and bath had everything we needed; coffeemaker, sink, small refrigerator, plenty of closet space, etc. If you are impressed with small personal touches, as I am, you will love this place. The shower pressure was nice. The gadgetry to get the shower to the perfect temperature was impressive as it showed you the temperature of the water. The power returned later in the evening but we barely noticed as we were quite comfortable as it was.The next morning, the continental breakfast was served in a small dining room overlooking the lake. We were impressed that the week before we were asked our preferences for breakfast via email. It’s these little touches that I love. We cannot say enough about this Inn but I will spare you reading any further. We hope to rent one of the cottages directly on the lake on our next visit!”

“Overall, location of this hotel is good not too far from downtown Newport not too far from Derby line. The room was two beds small bathroom. The air worked well. The TV was fine. The beds were OK carpeting on the floor small little table. The room was clean.. this location does have a pool and a hot tub. The pool is a decent size. Indoor hot tub was hot. Everything looked fairly clean inside the pool room although the pool room was very, very hot and humid in there.. the two ladies at the front desk were very polite and explained various things to me that needed to be explained to and sent me on my way. My only complaint was that the Wi-Fi inside the room was not very good, but if I sat outside on the balcony, the Wi-Fi was superb.”
