Whaleback Vineyard is a friendly and unpretentious winery situated in an attractive older farmhouse with stunning scenery and nice views. The tasting room is part of the house, offering a comfortable, bed-and-breakfast style experience. The owner is very friendly, knowledgeable, inviting, and a gracious host, happy to pour samples of all the wines grown and made on the property. The winery specializes in cold-weather varietals like Marquette. The wines are bulk-aged for years before bottling, making them distinctive, unique, and flavorful. Tastings allow you to try whatever your palate is drawn to, from sweet to dry offerings. Popular choices include the maple wine, the St. Croix, the ruby red, and the apple and peach wines. The atmosphere feels like visiting family or a friend, complete with friendly farm pets. Guests are welcome to bring their own food to enjoy. The property also hosts weddings and other events in their impressive barn. It is a worthwhile stop for a tasting experience and amazing wine.

Stunning scenery and amazing winery! The owner/winemaker, Dennis, was very inviting and was happy to give us a tasting of all his wines that he grows and makes on property. You will not be disappointed! What’s better than wine with a view and farm pets to hang out with while tasting!
