Sandy's Books and Bakery is a charming and inviting spot located in a picturesque valley town. It combines a cozy used bookstore with a delightful cafe, offering a relaxing place to spend a few hours. The bookstore features a wide selection of second-hand books, including fiction, science fiction, horror, mystery, and vintage finds from the 1960s and 70s, along with locally made candles, soaps, walking sticks, and crocheted hats. Many rooms across two floors provide semi-private reading areas, perfect for browsing and enjoying a good book. The staff are friendly, and the atmosphere is warm and welcoming, making it easy to linger and explore. The adjoining cafe offers a variety of baked goods and treats, with a focus on health food and locally made food products. The menu includes items like broccoli and potato quiche, roasted carrot and lentil soup, apple cider donuts, and a morning glory muffin. While some baked goods may be past their peak or somewhat basic, the overall experience is charming, especially with options to enjoy a coffee or latte, such as the Vermonter with maple syrup finish. The cafe's atmosphere is enhanced by the presence of cats, homemade candles, soaps, and natural wood walking sticks, creating a magical and enchanting environment. Visitors appreciate the strong wifi and the peaceful setting, making it a perfect place to relax, read, and enjoy a quiet moment. Despite occasional limitations with food, Sandy's Books and Bakery remains a favorite destination for book lovers and those seeking a cozy, inspiring experience. It’s a spot that encourages slow browsing, good conversation, and the joy of discovering unique books and handmade goods.
Always something vegan to eat, but more in the health food ahead and veggies on fresh bread vein than complex meals. Nothing wrong with that, but the trip is for Rochester and the bookstore, not vegan treats specifically.

Second time coming here. It is a good spot if you need to hang out for a few hours (waiting on someone or waiting for your next activity). The treats are good and coffee is hot! The wifi is strong as well. Thanks!

Sip the Vermonter (latte with a maple syrup finish) and read one of the great 2nd hand books off the shelf (I personally love "yup, nope, and other Vermont dialogues")
