NO SOLID SECURITY. NOBODY IN THE STORE.Phone system is interior. I called into Uhaul after returning home as I left my walking stick with the rental. Their phone system referred me to their online email system. Not a human to answer a phone. The representative from Uhaul we were directed to was also unsuccessful in getting through to the store. So I drove down. Not a soul around, inside or out. Everything wide open. The store could easily be robbed silly.

I do not want this comment to come back on the Rutland Uhaul team because they were great. Truck was clean, worked great, customer service was 5 stars and would give 6 stats if we could. They were accommodating, courteous and fantastic to work with.This moving service on the other hand... completely messed up. Our movers were told they were moving a studio, one bedroom with no stairs. I personally communicated that we were a 4 bedroom with 3 levels...it cost us an additional day with the truck plus a huge fee to get the movers help for an additional day and our new house is a mess because they still couldn't finish. I will be contacting you if a solution is not communicated with us. I do NOT recommend this moving service. You guys suck.

Rutland, as a city, has a derelict reputation. But the gentleman who helped me rent a pick up truck at the Rutland, Vermont location was EXCEPTIONAL. I left feeling like we were old friends. I only needed the pick up for a few hours to move a sofa & the experience of renting the truck was VERY easy. I don't do "apps" or use my cellphone for check ins & all that. I called, reserved a pickup for Thursday evening, & when I arrived it was a simple process of checking in & doing the "paperwork". I prefer the in-person touch of meeting with a representative so I can ask questions rather than it all being through apps/remotely. Patrick was knowledgeable, patient, & personable- the three most important qualities I look for in a customer service representative. When I arrived he was outside painting the windowsill of the front of the store. He immediately greeted me & I said he'd be right in after closing up the paint can. The store was clean, well lit, & well stocked. When I returned the pickup a few hours later, I would have preferred a bit more lighting outside, but overall I felt safe & confident as I am a woman & I was alone after dark at a closed business. Patrick had already walked me to where I would need to return the truck & walked me to the key drop box so I would know where to find it. He pointed out the security cameras & I felt like that was more for MY peace of mind than for the store making sure the trucks were safe. I've rented UHaul moving trucks in the past in other cities & NEVER had a positive experience with the stores or the representatives. With Patrick you have a gem! Thank you!

While taking the 4 million pictures uhaul requires to return a truck and avoid a stupid charge that shouldn't exist, I accidently locked the keys in the cab (at the location I rented from, right where they asked me to leave it). I immediately called uhaul and let them know and was told not to worry about it, they likely have a spare key. I then called again in the morning, and even though it was within business hours, no one answered at the location, so I got pushed to corporate. Once again I was told not to worry about it and that the location would call me if there was any problem. 2 days later I got $155 bill, that no one told me was even a possibility, to "cut a new key". If I had known they were going to screw me over I would have just called AAA that night and had them pop the lock. Absolutely ridiculous and unacceptable. I won't be using uhaul anymore.

We were having quite a brutal weekend with a storage unit fiasco and a U-Haul Angel (aka Patrick) saved us. Long story short, we had to transfer trucks, drive to NY instead of VT — lots of logistics to figure out and Patrick was SO HELPFUL. I might find myself in Rutland again soon just to give him a hug. Patrick is doing a lot of good for this location as the GM!Bonus: There was another employee there that even took the time to try and find the storage unit with us - awesome team there!

Unfortunately there was only one service agent there but he was very helpful and just let people know he was only person. For one person he did an amazing job!!

Jeff was very helpful and efficient and went above and beyond. We had some difficulties traveling from Massachusetts to Rutland due to detours because of all of the flooding in Vermont. Jeff was super kind and understanding. He is definitely an asset to UHaul and I highly recommend the Rutland Vermont location.

I went in looking for a trailer hitch and the gentlemen at the front desk was helpful and friendly. Small selection of towing supplies but I found what I needed. Thanks.

I needed a trailer to move the rest of my mother's stuff to VT after her husband had just passed. My son in law offered to use his truck and pick up a trailer and get the final possessions. I was guaranteed from the beginning of my reservation to 30 minutes prior to pick up that his card would not be billed and my card listed on the reservation was to be charged. They had promised over the phone no problem due to circumstances. Well they charged his card. I then spent 2 hours with customer service and was promised that his card would be credited and mine charged. Joe Garrow offered no compassion, no concern, and really doesn't care about the situation or people in general. He runs it there but can't help in any other way and "can't credit a card"...he was truly the most unhelpful and uncaring manager ever spoken too. He told me the customer service agent, from the company he operates under, lied to me. They're all recorded calls so remember if you have an issue don't go to Joe, he won't care and you'll just be given an 800# then you get the next manager's number for Erica that refers you back to Joe. Disgusting and an absolute misrepresentation of business. I would never advise using this company.

This place has the worst customer service in Rutland. I walked in to get propane today as the service bell doesn't work. Four guys are standing around in the back . I said I needed propane they said okay, and I wanted for over 10min outside, and no one came out! This is not how you win over the customer. Four guys just stand alone, and I can’t get one to assist me. I left.

Steer clear of this location. Terrible experience. We rented a truck to tow a piece of machinery. This was stated at the time of rental and when we picked up the truck. We were rented a truck with a non standard hitch, so it didn't fit the machine that we had to tow. It was never stated that the truck had a non standard hitch. General Manager was short and not helpful. Refused to refund us our money. We had the truck for under two hours.

Moved across the country to Vermont and had a UBox pod shipped to this store. Pod was not delivered on time and the driver left with my container on the back of the truck because nobody was forklift certified to unload it.Don’t bother calling for help - the shortest wait time I could get was 30 minutes. Most calls would be redirected out from the store and to the call center.Nobody answers the phone because the owner is usually out in the lot chatting. Had to make multiple trips to talk to a them in person. Place was dead empty when I pulled up - why can’t you answer my calls?When I did talk to him, the owner sat back in his chair and couldn’t care less that my box can’t be located and can’t tell me when to expect it. To quote him, “well we don’t know where your container is or when it will get here but it’s not lost.”Save your time and brain cells and take your business elsewhere. And no, I still don’t have my stuff.
