Very poor work and avoids calls when they mess up. Which I'm willing to bet is frequently. Cost me months of time and thousands$$. And he's worried about getting paid. How about hiring some real mechanics and doing jobs correctly. Piss poor work never again.

Had my car for September-December with very little communication. I would call over and over again and get nothing. Supposedly fixed my brakes but apparently didn’t because they’re shot, again. Broke my exhaust system while repairing a frame issue with my car and supposedly fixed it, the exhaust fell off completely. I paid $1,700 to get a car back with 1/4 of the issues fixed and more issues than when I dropped it off. It wouldn’t start again after I drove it off the lot and I didn’t dare bring it back because I couldn’t risk potentially not having my car for 3 more months. I don’t know why anyone recommends this place

Never returned multiple calls, never answers their phone. Brakes repaired here once, had to return three times to have them fixed correctly, second time they replaced a brake line with it rubbing directly against my drive shaft, completely lost brakes, luckily my e brake worked. Not recommended for any repairs that are safety related.

I bought my car 2012 ***** Fit 2 years ago. It had ****** miles. I went to 2 mechanics in ****** to find out why there was a strong smell of gas inside my car. I was told there was no smell. I did some online research and discovered that some 2012 ***** Fits left the factory with loose spark plugs, and a strong gas smell in the cabin was a symptom. I relayed this info to these Boston mechanics and was told not to believe anything on the internet. So I just lived with the smell. Fast forward to 3 weeks ago. I was driving to *************** on 93 going 70 mph when suddenly there was a loud noise. I thought it was an exhaust problem because of the way it sounded. I drove my very impaired car the final 50 miles to ***************. My husband took the car to this shop, which he completely trusts. Portland Street Service Center correctly diagnosed that a spark plug had blown out of my engine. They installed a new sparkplug, replaced a burned out coil, and the bill was $260. The smell is gone, my car is ************* now. This is a great shop!! Thank you!!

In September my car had an exhaust leak that was supposed to be repaired. In December I took my car to a different mechanic who told me the "repair" that had been done was just epoxy on the cracked pipe! Additionally, the mechanic at Portland Street did not communicate with me about timing, did not do the other work I had asked him to do, and was clearly under the influence when I spoke to him. Their parking lot is also extremely difficult to navigate and they have no available waiting area. I do not recommend this mechanic.Service: Auto exhaust system repair

There are times when one really has no choice but to go somewhere else for service. That’s often disappointing! As many of us try to keep vehicles longer, we’re finding parts may no longer be available or at reasonable prices. Used parts seem less available and there’s fewer salvage operations in VT. Mike works great with his regular customers and walk ins alike. Yes, he’s busy but is it any wonder! The old building and his genuine approach to car maintenance, state inspections and repairs can’t be beat.

Portland Street auto is the only place I've been around locally where you feel like family before you even walk through the door. This building is charming and unique then you meet Mike who is accommodating and reasonable to each one of his guests I travel to go because I trust no one else.

I have used portland street repairs 2 times now. Amazing they worked with my schedule and got it done in a timely manner. Witch as a working single mother of 3 and only one vehicle I have little to no time and can't afford to not have a car for to long... big thanks to yall......Think I found my new and amazingly awesome car GUY.....
