Enjoyed an absolutely wonderful stay at the Shoreham Inn while in Vermont for a weekend event in nearby Middlebury. The Green Mountain Suite was spacious, comfortable, and inviting – the inn was rich in history at every turn – and the setting was quiet, safe, and beautiful. Kevin and Scott were gracious and responsive from the time our reservation was made, right through checkout. Breakfast was top notch – truly delicious, enjoyed with wonderful conversation and a bucolic view of the sheep barn and rolling green lawn. Looking forward to returning with our family!

My mother and I came to visit to see some old friends, we stumbled upon the Inn, and thank heavens we did. It's a little shocking when you walk in, because it doesn't come across like an inn, it's a home. The (New!) Inns owners Kevin and Scott are the most wholesome and kind humans I've ever been blessed to meet. They don't feel like Inn Owners/Keepers, they feel like family. We settled in, went out to dinner (Fire&Ice) and when we got back they greated us asking about our time. Mom and I are talkers, turning "how was it?" into a two hour conversation is our specialty. Kevin and Scott listened to every word, answering all my questions and taking interest in our experience, sharing their personal ones as well. Not once did i think i was talking to a stranger, it was talking to old friends.I can't say it enough, the Inn feels like home, and my goodness, do they keep a clean home. With rich history all around you would think a 220yr old home would be dusty, and have that "I've been thru it all" smell like most antique places have, but the Shoreham Inn is all the history with none of the dust, I can't stress enough how clean this place it. So clean, my mother noticed, and she's a tough woman to impress.I can't wait to come back. I highly recommend this hidden Gem. Absolutely a magical, cozy, and heartwarming experience.Thank you Kevin and Scott for such an enchanting stay. You two are doing an amazing job, I can't wait to watch all your dreams come true!-AB&LBRooms: Stunning. We stayed in the Derry room, two twin beds and a bathroom (with shower). The beds are so comfortable, the bathroom is extremely clean. We stayed during winter, and for a 220 year old house, it was very warm and cozy. Not a single complaint about it!Food & drinks: Coffee was ready at 7am, breakfast was soon after, the food was delicious and locally sourced! French toast and bacon was perfectly cooked and very filling! Did I mention how clean everything is? Because it's spotless, every dish looked like it was brand new. The tables are clean, even the coffee area looked like it was made for a pintrest page.Noteworthy details: I'm an early riser, so waking up at 5:30am to walk down into a cozy living space to get some work done was so unbelievably calming. I put on quite intramental jazz music, and dived into my work. I've never been so productive on a weekend away. It was so comfortable, It was romantic and rustic, and so, so clean. Unbelievably clean, I cant say that enough. I've stayed at high end resorts that don't even come close to how clean the Shoreham Inn is.

Small country inn in a historic building. The couple running the inn are very personable and provide all services. We had 2 very good meals and a comfortable night. I really enjoyed our stay and recommend-again this is a historic building and I appreciate their hospitality

We wanted to tour some of the Revolutionary War battlefields - Fort Ticonderoga, Hubbardton and Bennington and thought this was an ideal location - turned out better than we thought. Instead of driving around Lake Champlain to get to Ft. Ticonderoga, we could take the Ferry 5 miles down Rt. 74 for a quick 7 minute trip. Very convenient and inexpensive.Stayed in the sheep barn and in a room with bedroom and loft sitting area - very spacious and quiet. Great breakfast to start the day and the hosts were wonderful. Would recommend the Shoreham in to anyone.

We recently stayed at the Shoreham with our two young children (infant and toddler) in the orchard room. The room was spacious and well suited to our needs. Andrew and Elizabeth were very pleasant and accommodating during our stay. We enjoyed good conversation and an amazing breakfast in their beautiful Inn. They went above and beyond to accommodate our needs as a family with young children. I would highly recommend the Shoreham for anyone looking for an authentic Vermont bed and breakfast experience.

We stayed at the Shoreham Inn last weekend and have nothing but praise for the place. Andrew and Elizabeth were completely gracious and welcoming. Happy to chat and happy to give you all the space you need. The inn itself is definitely an old country style place with all the character of a building weathered with over 200 years of history. Yet, it is kept fresh and clean. The bed was perfect and the heat was also the right temperature. We slept like puppies. Downstairs is leisurely filled with comfortable chairs and couches and is kept warm with a glowing fireplace. The breakfasts were perfect each morning with ample fresh coffee and a full menu of typical breakfast items prepared individually and with care. We ate the omelets, french toast, fresh fruit and were offered a good choice of juices. The town is quiet but only a 15-20 minute drive to Middlebury. It is also close enough to New York locations for several day trip options. We highly recommend the Shoreham Inn and its Innkeepers for your next Vermont get-a-way! Thanks for wonderful weekend.

Our weekend stay in the Sheep Barn was phenomenal! This was without a doubt the cleanest, quietest, and most welcoming place we have stayed on our many recent adventures. The couple that owns Shoreham Inn were genuine, thoughtful, and professional. The breakfast deserves a review of its own! These two can bake and cook! Absolutely delicious! We can’t wait to stay again and hope the same owners are here and everything is exactly the same; it is hard to imagine it being better.Lightning fast internet was a nice unexpected plus out in the middle of the country.Thank you BOTH for making our anniversary vacation beyond what we dreamed of. You are wonderful people. If you find yourselves in WI or IN let us know and we will happily return the hospitality, though it wouldn’t live up to yours.-Scott and Kelly

Not a very welcoming environment. Arrived to the Inn with my daughter (2 y.o.) and wife after a long commute, the staff failed to greet us kindly, and immediately asked “are you checking in?”. She then disappeared around the corner, a man approached us with a strong tone, “you didn’t tell me there were 3 of you”. Now I was baffled, I thought he was being sarcastic, however he was very serious, began lecturing about fire codes and occupancy etc. I said, “Sir, she’s 2, she can stay in the bed with us, it’s only 1 night”, he finally agreed to let us stay, showed us to our room. After much thought and feeling of unease, we arrived to the conclusion we just did not feel welcomed, which was made quite clear. So we decided to not stay and leave. That was our experience in the short time there. It was sad and shocking the impression they left on us, I’m sure it’s not the case for everyone, just ours unfortunately.

This is a quaint and very historic hotel in the middle of nowhere. It was a scheduled stay for a glorious fall bike trip, and because of the forecast for heavy rain that afternoon we arrived quite early. Owner Elizabeth must have checked that forecast because our rooms were ready, and she scrambled and was very welcoming/gracious about storing our bikes, getting us settled and then opening the bar so we could have drinks with the lunch we were told to pick up along the way. Dinner and breakfast were included in our package. the food is good but not gourmet. The pancakes and maple syrup are yum, and the cocktails before dinner are very good. Note that while dinner is included in the bike package, anything over the “basic dinner” is extra $ as are beverages. Vermont has some funny laws about alcohol so check ahead (basically if you bring it, you need to drink it in your room). The hotel itself is over 200 years old and shows her age. Its a fun experience. Our room was comfortable but basic (no toiletries beyond soap and no tv; so if you are traveling light, plan ahead). Bathroom was historic but the shower had been somewhat upgraded - after biking all day, a relief. There are games in the main room but no tvs there either, totally unplugged (we were keeping an eye on hurricane ian so we used the wifi for news). Bed was quite comfortable but the room was on the warm side even in the fall, and we should have turned on the window AC for a bit. There were plenty of surfaces for luggage and personal items and we had enough plugs for all of our tech and our bike batteries (which you need to pull and take to your room). Note of caution: stairs are VERY steep because of the age of the hotel (again it’s historic) and this hotel has only one room suitable for disabilities of any kind; so check ahead. Some of us had trouble with the stairs, especially with luggage. A bellboy would have been helpful. Lighting was a bit too dim for all of us, especially in the rooms. Overall, this was a fun stay for one night. The owners were full of information about the hotel that they were happy to share, and it was a good stop for a rainy afternoon. I would normally give this hotel 3 stars but Elizabeth was so nice about us being 3 hours early I am going with four.

My husband and I stayed at the Shoreham Inn during our trip around New Hampshire and Vermont. The inn is charming and quaint. Our room, called the bird room, was tastefully appointed. Hosts Andrew and Elizabeth were friendly, personable, and welcoming. Their breakfasts were excellent! I highly recommend the Shoreham Inn.
