The hospital was very nice. Friendly staff and free hot coffee. Pricey but that was expected with emergency services.

We love VCA Brown. Our cats saw Dr. Tal and Dr. Wheel. The attention to detail and comfort of our pets was astounding. They took their time so as to keep our cats calm and supported (offering a pheromone blanket, treats, meeting them where they were at so they weren’t anxious or agitated.) Their administrative and veterinary support staff are also excellent and you can always talk to someone when you call, if you have questions they get back to you promptly. They provide estimated care costs for treatments and procedures so you can plan.

Great, receptionist was very helpful, the vets are very knowledgeable and take great care of the pets brought in. They are more than happy to do all they can do to help and it never is about the money, they truly put the pets/animals well-being above all.

VCA brown in South Burlington is the worst vet I have encountered. On 8/29/23 I took my dog in for a hot spot. Very common treatment that can be cured at home, however I wanted to be safe due to sensitivity. I went in to see Dr.Wagner. After 30 minutes of talking she FINALLY assed the hot spot and went over treatment. The estimated price was 322 dollars (I have a care plan so the visit itself is free) they attempted to charge me 50 dollars for Cephalexin, 112 dollars for apoquel and 60 dollars for a probiotic. I explained that I could get the Cephalexin for 11.87 at Osco pharmacy with a written prescription and I could get the allergy medication (apoquel) from chewy for under 70 dollars. I also explained that I have a probiotic I give my dog daily at home for far cheaper and would not like to pay for that service. Dr.Wagner told her staff to tell me that "she did not have time to hand write a prescription so I could either wait a day or two, or pay the fee in house." I was also charged 76 dollars to have a vet tech shave the area and apply a cream on the hot spot. Which I could have done myself and the medication they used is sold at EVERY pet supply store. I was discharged without any follow up instructions, care, or medications. I am not one to write a negative review. However this place will take advantage of you and your wallet if they can. I have 10 years of healthcare experience, 2 years of pharmacy experience and 18 years of being a pet owner. I have NEVER met a facility that is so willing to Nickel and dime you like VCA. I will be following up with the board with this matter as well to protect people from being taken advantage of financially. It's been 5 hours and I still have yet to receive a prescription for my dogs infection which is very negligent. DO NOT get a care plan from here if you are looking for a reliable vet who will put clients and their pets as a first priority. I am glad I did not overpay for the prescriptions I can get for under 10 dollars. I do wish I did not allow them to shave my dog's patch of skin for 75 dollars after waiting 2 hours in an office. But I guess you can't fight every battle. Please do yourself and find a vet that cares.Best,Angie and Bear.

They're great if your pet is sick, and really nice. However, I find this happens often: I brought in a healthy, active 6 year old dog for routine vaccine boosters (who has been on tick prevention and heart worm prevention) and they wanted to add on so many tests that my bill was going to be close to $500. For a healthy, active dog. I just remember when vets were more conservative and it didn't make you feel shame that you couldn't afford all the tests that would probably all be negative anyway. Because healthy active dog.

I found VCA brown Animal Hospital staff to be supportive, sensitive and kind beyond measure. Thank God for the staff being gentle and professionally reassuring when faced with the direst circumstances with your beloved pet.

I called to make an appointment. They lady told me they were booking after February at this point. I asked if they had a cancelation list and instead of saying yes and adding me. She said yes but there 23 ppl ahead of you. Never asked If it was an emergency or if I needed anything else. She just said ok? And I hung up.Idk why ppl up here have no customer service skills.
