Nick was very courteous, competent and professional! He has both the personality and skills to be kind, patient and understanding with others which enables him to provide great customer service. He more than made up for the unexpected experience I had earlier that morning on 3/25/2024 with his female co-worker in booth #15.I was going through the usual stress of moving from another state, starting a new job, learning how to drive, and buying my first car. I also have the additional stress of having an elderly parent with serious health problems. When I got a VT driver's license 2 weeks ago I didn't notice that my first name was misspelled by 1 letter (an "a" was typed in instead of an "e") on my temporary driver's license. The misspelling caused a problem with the bank check I gave the car dealership. That morning at the DMV I gave a big smile and said a friendly "Hi! How are you doing today?" to Nick's co-worker in booth #15. She didn't seem too happy with my friendly greeting. Then when I told her about the error she got angry. In a very angry tone she said I was supposed to look at everything to make sure it was correct. I told her I thought I reviewed it on a computer screen and I didn't notice the error. She then got angry and said it was not on a screen but I was asked to review the paper temporary license. I told her I just bought a car and about the bank check not being accepted by the car dealership because of the error. She said she couldn't correct it until I receive the driver's license in the mail and she will have to charge me an additional name change fee of $24. Even though she was angry, I still was courteous and thanked her.I walked home and checked the mail and found the driver's license so I returned to the DMV and this time I saw Nick. He didn't make me feel bad that I missed seeing the misspelling. He made the correction and told me because it was an error he didn't charge me the $24 fee for name changes to a driver's license. He did tell me the DMV may still charge me the $24 but he thinks it should probably not be an issue. It's unfortunate Nick's co-worker worker in booth #15 was so angry. My husband and I were sitting in the DMV waiting area waiting for me to be called to see Nick when we saw her returning from lunch where we saw her violently shaking the door that appeared stuck to the employee booths area. Maybe she was just having a really bad day. If she is going through something, I hope she gets help with whatever she is dealing with because it's not good for her health or for her co-workers and DMV customers to have to interact with her so angry like that.

If you don’t have an appointment show up early in the morning and you’ll do fine. I was in and out in under 30 minutes today. If you come after lunch the wait is hours long.

Came in today to renew my drivers license. Since I couldn’t update/change my address thru the website. I heard that it’s a common issue. Make sure you check in and grab a ticket. I got my ticket around 12:34pm, my number got called around 1:24pm. I would recommend scheduling an appointment online (not sure if it will help shorten your waiting time or not). Try not to go during lunch hours as it gets pretty busy and longer wait. Some of the workers were nice and checks how you doing. The one I had was pure business which was fine, she helped with what I needed. It just helps when you connect to people and maybe mention “appreciate your patience” and/or “sorry for the long wait”. They take cash, checks and credit cards for payments.

The counter 8 associate was rude, not helpful, and was making snarky remarks to me. She flat out told me "This isn't a fun job." Then why are you working here lady?

I had to visit them 4 times to get my license renewed. Still don't have it. I had an appointment first time; couldn't get appointment next 3 times(how could i have known it will take me 3 extra visits to get this sorted out, right?). Each time 2+ hour wait. Just horrible.

It’s a DMV so I don’t have high expectations but I took time off of work and waited over an hour for a mistake the DMV made.

All other experiences I’ve had here have been fine except this one. I renewed my ID last year but I never received it. One of the clerks said “oh yeah, if you don’t take it out of your mailbox within 24hrs, we take it back for security reasons. You’ll have to pay $50 for a new one.” I told him no way in hell am I paying full price for another ID I just bought. Especially when I wasn’t told this WHEN I renewed it. Just seems like some businesses like to be greedy which is sad because these things are essential and important to have. Stop messing around with us. Also suggestion for the future, if we can just renew ID’s and get them the same day that would be awesome instead of mailing them and increasing the probability of security issues.

They get 3 stars because the staff is genuinely helpful and friendly. I deduct 2 stars for the wait time and the inadequate seating (both quantity and quality). Even with an appointment, I waited 80 minutes to be seen.

This DMV location needs to hire more staff, 3 hours minimum wait if you don’t book an appointment so I can just be seen at the window to pick up a temporary disability Parking pass is absurd. I am not saying I should have priority over other people, but I have a prescribed letter from the doctor to pick up my parking pass but still need to go through the screening process. And because they are extremely short staff, you better have an appointment (Which are fully booked 4 days ahead) or have your entire day free in order to have your request taking care of.

The best dmv experience I've had. Every staff member I interacted with was very personable and helpful. I made an appointment (which I highly recommend doing) and was seen right on time. I was in and out in less than 30 minutes.
