Beware, the people at the counter are aggressive salespeople. The museum is dim, the place is small, old and dirty, and the taxidermy is cringe-worthy.On the other hand, the film in the planetarium was very good and worth seeing.

From Fairbanks Museum & Planetarium
Northern New England's museum of Natural History with animals and artifacts from around the world. The Fairbanks Museum was founded in 1891 based on a Victorian "cabinet of curiosities" collected by Franklin Fairbanks, and the exhibits remain rooted in this tradition. With eclectic collections that inspire wonder, the Museum is home to Vermont's only public planetarium and the Eye on the Sky Weather Center. Daily planetarium shows, a seasonal native butterfly house and changing exhibits keep visitors coming again and again.
