.I don't know where these 5 star reviews are coming from. This is a motel that charges resort fees. I hate to savage this place since none of the issues can be addressed by staff, but it deserves it.I booked with credit card points, but if I had paid full price, I would have checked out immediately after checking in...Good: The location is good since the recreation trail runs right past. Staff is friendly and the exercise room is well equipped.Bad: Everything else. The whole place smelled like mold or feet, depending on what wing you were in. Neither the spa nor the on-site restaurant was open, and little evidence of the remodeling activity to be found. The outside pool had no water. Breakfast was equivalent to a Day's Inn offering-packaged over processed food and boiled eggs.Everything was decrepit. The walls were covered in scuffs and dents. Doors were dented, and wooden stairs were splitting. The carpet was threadbare and wrinkled. In bed, I could feel the springs on my back all night. The landscaping looked overgrown. I watched-on Memorial Day weekend! as they took down the Christmas lights-which gives you an idea of how backed up even the most mundane maintenance tasks are. There was no one there, so at least it was quiet. The place also had the gall to charge 17 bucks a night for amenities such as the disappointing breakfast and wifi- standard in all other hotels and included in other hotel rates.

Outstanding staff, location, and room! Walking distance to great shops and restaurants, bike rentals and the Stowe recreational path. Book this hotel—you will not be disappointed!

Walkability: The Stowe recreation path crosses the street right in front of the hotel. If you take a left on the path the main business district of Stowe is a short 2 mile walk down a well kept paved path. Crossing the street taking a right is very family friendly walk to a couple parks with picnic tables and port-a-potties.

My friend and I were here the nights before and after the eclipse.Their restaurant and some other facilities were closed. Bad timing, but we were aware of that beforehand.Unfortunately the card entry system was down when we arrived and didn't come back up until the evening before we left. Kind of a pain to have to keep asking for them to let us into our room, but they were apologetic and quick to comply. (They also gave us great cookies!)The room was clean, but needed some tender loving care. The desk chair had several holes worn into the upholstery. I seriously suggest that the staff take a minute to sit on the toilet and see the bathroom from their customers' viewpoint. Peeling wallpaper on the corner wall should be tacked down before it rips. A quick bit of caulking on the molding over the showerhead would do wonders. The surface of the showerhead could use a quick scrub. I have the same one at home and it tends to collect mineral build-up-- not attractive. Water has caused paint to peel off of the floor molding. There was a small vent in the bathroom, but no way to turn on a fan to vent the moisture. The little things add-up.

Perfect location for viewing the April 8, 2024 eclipse totality. Inexpensive pet fee so our fur companion was able to join. The Alchemist is 5ish minute walk away (you can see the brewery from the parking lot). Idyletime Brewing and Piecasso Pizzeria are directly across the street. There is a lovely small coffee shop with outdoor seating and tasty breakfast sandwiches a short walk away. If you're feeling like a walk the Trapp Bierhall is about a mile and a half away. We want to give a special.shout out to the staff for rolling with the key card system crashing during the eclipse rush. We never had to wait more than 90 seconds for staff to let us into our room. Love the labyrinthine ski lodge feel of the place. It is very comfortable. They're definitely going through a refurbishment period- looking forward to seeing what they do with the space as they continue to renovate. Thank you for a wonderful eclipse totality!Walkability: Perfectly situated for brewery hopping!

This resort is very run down, dirty and overpriced. It’s in a nice quiet location. Staff were very nice. I just wish we would have read the reviews and avoided this place.

Super cute place to stay. Comfortable beds and clean room. We used the sauna, hot tub, and indoor pool. Great location to lots of restaurants, and there is bowling across the street.

For the price and amenities I don’t think it can be beat. The rooms are a bit outdated (they had a combination vhs/dvd player to give you an idea) but for us it didn’t really matter as we were predominately skiing. The rooms were clean and spacious. We rented a suite and both the bed and pull out mattress were comfortable. Will definitely consider going back next time we’re in the area!Noteworthy details: Pool, gym, sauna and hot tub were all added bonuses. The hot tub Jets were not working when we were there however.

Let me start out by saying it was on my Bucket list to come to Vermont from Florida.I want to start out by saying this resort intentionally mislead us along with everyone and all guest who have stayed in this resort for the past year.Advertising clearly has photos of a restaurant and spa along with other amenities. Made reservations weeks in advance a few days before arrival we receive a e- mail informing us the spa and dining is down and will update us every 7 days knowly the old closed mold infested restaurant been closed for approximately one year. There even were photos all over the resort including inside their own elevator wth mouth watering meals that do not exist.Found prior to arrival because of my own dilligence that the resort over charged me by $650 for our brief stay.Once we checked into the resort found out that there wasn't room service and was originally declined clean towels when we called the front desk.No clean sheets during your entire stay. They change bed sheets prior to your stay and garbage cans full of trash. The so call continental breakfast consists of store bought cheap plastic wrapped pastries. Microwave next to breakfast full of years old stuck on food infested with baterica. So our choices are left to walk in the snow down the road to eat all meals.I would say Never come to this resort. The town is beautiful and so many more lovely places to choose from.

Okay, I am just trying to leave some information for everybody based on what I experienced at this resort for my recent ski trip to Stowe.1. We got our room isolated from the main building (old, smelly bath, cold, no noise control). So when you check in, make sure to ask them to assign a room within the main building.2. There is NO ROOM CLEANING happens everyday but every third day. So if you stay here for 3 nights, there would be no cleaning service until you check out. In between, when we tried to contact room service or main desk asking for extra towels through the room phone, no one picked it up (literally I tried to reach them out over 15 times). At our 4th day, I finally encountered the cleaning lady (who was very nice by the way) in my room, she basically made bed (no changing the sheets), refilled the towels without vacuuming the room or something else.3. Despite lack of introduction to this resort upon check-in, we still needed to pay extra $17/night for so-called “resort fee”. It is absolutely non-sense to me and my husband to think about us being dislocated from main building, having one time room cleaning for our whole 4 nights of stay, and not being informed properly about what facilities are available. They will charge you no matter what anyway, so please enjoy whatever resort perks they have.

Upon setting our eyes on Stoweflake for the first time, We felt a sense of Welcome and Hominess. In the beginning of December with a blanket of snow around it was a site to behold. The Staff was Very Warm and Fun, they told us all about things to do and see around Stowe. The building itself was Charming, it has a Mountain Inn Vibe. A few common area's Where you meet some wonderful and interesting people. It was fun exploring throughout its halls. I would love to comeback in the spring or summer to see the Middle Garden, I think named the Zen Garden. Our Room was very cozy, it had a little Glass fireplace that warmed up the room. Enough so that we enjoyed a winter fresh breeze from the window. My Favorite part of the Stay was the evening that we sat under a light falling snow in the out door hot tub.Thank you so much for a wonderful Experience!
