Had a spa date booked three months in advance for new years weekend. The spa changed our appointment's on us the day before, just so we had no time to find somewhere else to go. Sugarbush spa ended up having space for us and it was a wonderful experience, so we felt we got a better deal anyway. Read the reviews before you book.

DO NOT BOOK HERE!!!We will not consider booking here again for the following reasons:They imposed additional fees without prior notification, leaving us with the choice of accepting the extra charges or canceling the reservation. This experience contrasts with my previous travels where such surprises were not encountered.Upon our arrival at the check-in location around 10 PM, there was no one present, and I had to wait for half an hour for staff to arrive. The fridge still contained leftover food from the previous guest, which was extremely unpleasant.Hairs and body hair were not properly cleaned in the bathtub and on the walls.Unclean soap scum was discovered on the soap holder in the bathtub. The curtain rod in the room was of poor quality and easily came off when pulled.

Super outdated but still expensive. Spa and restaurants not open. Common areas not clean, very bare bones amenities

Worst spa experience for my husband and I. We have had several treatments across VT and ADK region. We were put into a room that we weren’t aware was communal to wait for our treatment. The entire facility is way overdue for an update. My husband and I were getting ready after our treatments and they brought another guest (female) to get ready for her treatment and this space is about the size of a single bed hotel room with no lockers or separate bath areas. This space had no towels, no toiletries, etc. During my facial, therapist didn’t wash her hands, table wasn’t warm until I requested, and did not discuss my skin or goals wanted to achieve, she just started putting products on my face. She never allowed me to pick my treatment. During my entire treatment, several lights on, kids jumping and running up above us and playing where guests must stay? The therapist offered to turn the music up louder. This experience was not relaxing at all. I kept looking at the clock to see how much longer I had. She did not adjust the table after I requested because it was too far upright. 10 minutes into my treatment my skin was burning and I notified the therapist she offered a cold towel & said it would go away. I have never left a treatment looking or feeling like this the burning did not go away. Several aspects of a facial that I usually get at other places never happened here. My husband and I are not complainers, we just felt like this experience was not something we should have to pay for. We were respectful with our feedback and concerns. They only offered to take 15 percent off gratuity. The last management person we spoke with was extremely rude, no apologies, and banned us from returning to the Stoweflake. We are locals and will not be returning nor suggesting to anyone looking to experience the Stoweflake and what it lacks to offer.

Hallways are sketchy with odd smells, but the rooms were quite nice.

Great place to stay for your stay at Stowe. Gave me a Victorian style vibe. There is no tv in the room though for tv lovers. But the hotel was awesome. Great staffs. Coffee and snacks in the hallway. Beautiful decoration for Halloween and you can get to many restaurants in just 3-4 min walk.Rooms: Clean , spacious , comfy beds.Walkability: Restaurants are just 3-4 min walk away.

I was there for a large conference, did not stay overnight. Although I noted that my diet was both gluten free and vegan, the only options I had were plain lettuce and tomatoes and some mushy cooked broccoli and carrots. When I asked if there were other options, I got a shrug and a "guess not." On the positive side, now I know what it's like to try to learn without good nutrition.Food & drinks: See above

This place is an absolute nightmare!! The rssturant is closed, the grounds are overgrown, some lights are attached to the wall by tape. There were no more than q0 to 15 people in the entire hotel. There were about 2 staff people on site at any time. There was a housekeeper but in spit of seeing her near our room she did not clean it, refresh towels or take out trash. It is dirty and run down and it smells musty and old. Under no circumstances would I recommend this to anyone!!! It is basically closed down but they were happy to take our money.Rooms: Dirty and old!Safety: The place is empty and dark at night. No staff to be found.

Older hotel in need of new flooring etc. Upon arrival, we were told we had to pay a damage deposit that would be refunded later. We've never heard of that and even on this New England trip, they were the only ones to do so. I also looked back at my booking receipt and there was no mention of this. There were hairs in the bathroom and the restaurant was never open while we were there. Other than it needing an update and the hairs in the bathroom the rest of it seemed okay other than we had to park a long way from the room and then go to different floors for ice as it was broken. The parking area they told us to park in seemed a tad unsafe but they said they had security on the premises. We never saw anyone.

I recently stayed at Stoweflake Mountain Resort, and my experience was far from satisfactory. The outdated decor and lack of cleanliness were immediately noticeable upon entering the room. The walls seemed paper-thin, as I could overhear conversations from the next room, which greatly impacted my overall comfort. To make matters worse, the towels provided were dirty, and there was no mention of breakfast upon check-in. It was only later that I discovered breakfast was served from 7-8:30 am, leaving little room for flexibility in my morning schedule. Additionally, the water in the tub ran yellow for the first 5 minutes before my shower, which was not only unpleasant but also concerning. The hotel's location was indeed perfect. Situated in the heart of the city, it offered convenient access to various attractions and amenities.Overall, my stay was disappointing, and I would not recommend this hotel to others based on these issues.

This place is in need of a remodel. Carpets are threadbare, beds are rickety and uncomfortable, the shower handle and sink handles were broken and the toilet ran. Both the spa and two restaurants were closed as well as the spa gift shop. Spa prices were outrageous! $75 for a pedicure? It says it's a 5 star hotel but I've stayed in better motel 6's. Also, what are you charging a resort fee for if nothing is open?

Definitely not a 4 star Hotel! I arrived 3:10pm. Two receptionists have no idea what the check in time is. They were busy reading on computer screens and let me standing there for 15 minutes like I don’t exist. Finally I went up and ask if I can check in. And I was told check back in a hour because the room was not ready! Very rude! The room is very rundown and cheap looking. Restaurant is closed. Spa is closed. I found out this hotel is put on market for sale after sold about two years ago. Go figure! Not recommended!

Rooms are very large with in-room gas fireplaces. The rooms and the hotel itself could use a refresh but are in a decent state of upkeep. Good location half way between Stowe mountain and the quaint part of the village. During this summer, it appears staff shortages mean that there are limited amenities in the hotel (no bar, breakfast, etc).Good value overall, but watch out for non refundable rates (we couldn't cancel a second night before checking in, despite one of our party being in a hospital after an accident prior to our arrival -- which is an exigent circumstance IMO).

Very disappointed with $400+ suite and Resort 9/23/23. Their restaurant, spa and other features are closed! Not sure any renovations since built in 1978. The place smells musty. No coffee available in main lobby and coffee maker in room didn't work. Carpets are threadbare and must have been that way for years. Rude desk clerk. Handicapped and booked in almost the furthest room away. Wouldn't accommodate us with a different room. Only exit with ramp was through doors and a long, long way from room. No fire exit directions on back of door. Some fire extinguishers not inspected since 2022. Didn't feel safe in this fire trap. Sink wouldn't drain. Tried to sit in a chair in the lobby and a leg fell off! Looked closed when we drove up. Just wasn't anywhere near advertised on website. Feel betrayed. Beware!
