Umiak Outdoor Outfitters is a great little shop with lots of high quality gear at very reasonable prices. Their selection of boats is the best around. The staff is knowledgeable, friendly, and enthusiastic, providing top notch customer service. They offer experienced advice for backcountry skiing, snowshoes, and cross-country skiing, including tips on lesser-known trails. The business provides amazing self-guided tours and thorough kayak lessons that improve skills and understanding. Instructors are knowledgeable, fun, thorough, and interesting, meeting customers at their skill level to help them progress and feel safe, comfortable, and prepared on the water.
We did rentals for snowshoes and spikes and the staff for extremely friendly and knowledgeable and made the entire process a breeze. They even helped with giving us some trail maps and spots to check out at Smugglers Knotch. Excellent experience!

Such an excellent experience today with JSR from the team @Umiak doing a sugar & snow tour. We learned about harvesting maple sugar, and being responsible stewards of trees and land. I’d highly recommend making this part of your visit to Stowe
