Great staff and care for a laceration that I needed stitched up very early in the morning. We were at Stratton and thinking we had to drive to Brattleboro because of the time of day but then realized Grace Cottage’s ER dept was open and much closer. Brittany and the team provided excellent care. I would recommend this hospital to others.

My 19 year old daughter was in a accident leaving her with a broken hip, pelvic and femur. Everyone at Grace Cottage was and still is amazing 3 months later. They treat her and myself like family and we couldn't be more thankful for them all. During our toughest days they are what kept me strong as a mother. She is currently doing out-patient therapy at this little gem hidden in the woods of Vermont. We are forever thankful for Grace Cottage and their wonderful staff ♥️

An amazing local, cottage hospital. The emergency providers are professional and actually listen to and treat your issues. I am in recovery, and the providers still treated me without judgment. I am so glad to have this as an option for emergency care.

This review is for behavioral health only.Elise Kraus, PMHNP-BC is in charge of my med management. Her profile indicates trauma informed care for LGBTQ individuals but this is not what I experienced. On multiple instances, Elise incorrectly inferred what I was trying to communicate, and did not ask clarifying questions or verify her assumptions before making decisions based on those incorrect inferences. When I said “I’m very direct, I say what I mean” I heard her audibly huff and say “oh my god.” She said, “If I don’t believe you, I’m not going to write it down.”This was distressing to me because it took me so many years to get doctors to believe I was in a mass shooting and have PTSD, as well as having ADHD, all the usual disbelief that neurodivergent women with chronic pain and trauma experience from doctors.I pick women providers just so that I don’t have to deal with that kind of attitude where a doctor just doesn’t write down my complaints because they don’t believe me. I often experience more empathy and better communication from women providers, but this was not the case with Elise.I’ve also never had to take a drug test before getting access to meds for ADHD or anxiety before. Not even in Texas. I don’t appreciate being treated like a drug addict.I would not recommend this provider if you are neurodivergent because she tends to make inferences and doesn’t ask if those inferences are correct. It’s very frustrating and time consuming to have to correct all of the miscommunication that could have easily been resolved with a clarifying question.I also felt like I was facilitating the meeting. I had to manage our time, keep us on topic, etc. I had to ask her “Do you want to ask me any questions about my medication?” Because otherwise she wouldn’t have. Her job is to manage meds and she didn’t think to ask me about my meds.So much mental labor was very stressful and exhausting when I’m already obviously having a difficult time. It would be great if she could facilitate instead of relying on the patient to do all of the labor involved. I shouldn’t have to ask “what’s next” (on the agenda) to move us along. I felt like I was managing an employee, not meeting with a professional medical provider. When I told her I was struggling to be consistent with meds she offered no advice to get back on them, and no education was offered about what effect being inconsistent with meds might have on my well being.I wouldn’t recommend this provider if you are Autistic or neurodivergent. If you have an uncomplicated case with treatment in place, perhaps she could manage the maintenance of that. The extra star is for the rest of the behavioral health team. The reception is great. Nurse Sam is great, communicative and supportive. I appreciate her assistance very much.

This past weekend, during a family trip to Vermont, my wife had an accident on a nearby trail. She was brought by a volunteer rescue team to Grace Cottage. I wish to give many thanks to the Grace Cottage staff who provided my wife with excellent treatment and personal care. We all appreciate you, thank you. ❤️

Dr. Jeremy Morrison is the epitome of a great doctor. He has always advocated for me and valued what I have to say. He sits down and listens and passes no judgement. He’s knowledgeable and has always been attentive to my medical needs. It is a privilege to take care of sick people…. and Dr. Morrison gets that.

My father had 3 seprate stays there for rehab, over the course of 2 years. All of the people there weretop notch-- front desk, therapists, doc and nurses. It's the first choice any time he's needing a rehab stay, even though it's an hour from his home.

I love Grace Cottage staff. They are wonderful! BUT the new phone system is horrible. I was on hold for 25 minutes waiting for "the next available associate who will be with you shortly." I was waiting to cancel my appointment as my car ran off my driveway. My appointment was 9amI first called to cancel at 8:15.but no "associate" answered until nearly 8:46. The phone system has NO WAY to leave a message. Plus you have to listen to awful music and two recorded "Your call is important...an associate will br with you as soon as possible..." whatever it says. You no longer get thr friendly voice of a staff member. Instead, it's a very cold manufactured voice. I felt like I was trying to reach someone in a huge corporation.Too bad if you want to leave a message because it no longer gives that option! I'm really disappointed, as it no longer gives a sense of a friendly caring place.I'm sorry this is so long and I really appreciate the people who read to the end.Thank you!

I met with Dr. Wyll Everett this afternoon. He was very patient and generous with his time. His bedside manner was much appreciated. It was nice to work with a doctor with that level of empathy.

I went to Grace Cottage Emergency room yesterday for first time. It was a pleasant surprise. I was giving short infusion and they were very caring. Hard to find sometimes, I thank Mark and another female nurse, didn't catch her name for everything.

Getting prescriptions refilled is a nightmare. A rural hospital can be great in some instances but sometimes its just a joke. If dr's there put you on meds, they should respond to the pharmacy when they refill them for patients. Some day you're going to kill someone by not listening to your prescription re-fill messages.
