This is a hilly course that features gorgeous vistas on just about every hole. Most will want to ride here both because of the steep hills and the distances between holes. It is definitely challenging to maintain when rain is excessive, but the maintenance staff is dedicated and it usually plays quite well.

Beautiful vistas. Challenging terrain. Well maintained course in a bucolic environment situated in the heart of the green mountains.

August 2024 by Hello from Stowe - Alexa & J.T.
We had a lovely experience at the Sugarbush Resort Golf Club! It was meticulously maintained and well spread out, so it never felt crowded. The cart paths took you through the woods at times which was really fun! Nothing tops the stunning views of the ski trails on Lincoln Peak. It is one of the best courses we have played in Vermont!

Love this place. I play here every year for a guys golf trip. Track is in great and greens are in amazing shape. They do have a nice practice area and putting green so you can get there early.

I booked a tee time and was looking forward to getting out on the course. Before I could even swing a club thunder struck from off in the distance. Wisely, the course horn blew and the course was closed for the remainder of the day. I asked for my money back but the pro in the shop refused my request and only offered me a rain check that needs to be used within the next twelve months. What good is a rain check when you live far away? The worst part is that I hadn't even tee'd off from the first hole. Short sighted and not a good way to treat your customers.

The course was in pretty bad condition when we played this past fall yet they were still commanding top dollar for a mediocre New England course. Similar to Daniel Tibbetts' review, one of my buddies forgot to stay on the cart path for a portion of one hole. A ranger, of course, happened to see this and came flying in. I'm sure it was the same ranger; total hot head and very unprofessional, came in yelling and screaming. My friend apologized right away, said it was an honest mistake and wouldn't happen again but this guy continued to berate my friend and threaten our whole group for multiple minutes. Complete lack of self control and totally unprofessional, calling my friend an "idiot" and "moron", swearing and threatening to ban us from the course. It's not like we were a bunch of kids tearing up the course - a simple reminder would have gone a long way. My group was all in their mid 30s, we each play 40+ rounds a year and are overall very respectable on the golf course and of course try to adhere to cart path rules when they are in place. A simple mistake was made and the unprofessionalism of Sugarbush's ranger put a very bad taste in our mouths. I own a vacation home close by in Warren but I will never play here again here again due to this interaction. Much better courses in VT than this one anyways.

This picturesque mountain course also boasts a fabulous restaurant with weekly live music. The deck has the best view of any restaurant in the Valley! Full disclosure, I'm not a golfer. I ski the course all winter instead. I do make it over to Hogan's Pub regularly in the summer.

Very rude staff - we got yelled at for a very simple mix up/mistake with the cart path on the last hole (very in-depth cart instructions per hole due to rain). Simply telling us, respectfully, that we made a mistake could have done. The starter decided to yell at our group and the group behind us mid-hole and shot

Pretty expensive for non-members but the course is in great shape. The ranger basically followed our group the entire front 9, mostly from afar. Felt a bit like big brother watching over us considering we weren't members. He was friendly but made the experience much less enjoyable.

We had supper at the restaurant inside the clubhouse. The food was good and the prices were reasonable.

The actual course was nice. I accidentally left my Taylormade driver in the golf cart and one of the employees stole it. When I called in about it the guy on the phone couldn’t be bothered. Awesome ?

In defense of Sugarbush, today was their closing day. That being said - I was really disappointed to see how hard they mailed it in on their closing weekend.Greens were punched 3 days prior. I get you gotta punch the greens, but why do it 3 days before closing? Why not just wait?Fairways were the length of rough. But the worst, & really the laziest thing I've ever seen a course do - THEY DIDN'T PUT TEES OUT. That's right - there were no tees in the tee boxes. Had to use the yardage book ($5) to guestimate where the tees should be. For a $120 round, this is really inexcusable.Additionally, I really hated the layout of the course. Some may disagree, so to each their own. Tons of blind tee shots. Tons of super slopey greens & hard kicks. It was really tough given that this was our first time playing the course. Just a really gimmicky layout in my opinion.Do yourself a favor & play Sugarloaf or Sunday River instead. Much better Robert Trent designs & the staff there would never present the course in the condition that Sugarbush was in today.

Beautiful and well maintained. Reasonably challenging to keep you interested through n through. Excellent service at the pro shop and bag drop. Cafe can be slow.
