We had dinner here a few times over the holiday season and the food was always outstanding and the staff were incredibly accommodating. One night service was slow but the staff did their best to manage through it while the kitchen was backed up. Whether we sit and eat at the bar, the main dining room or the fireplace lounge in the back, we always enjoy our meal and the food is consistently very very good.

Service at the restaurant is as phenomenal , both waitresses were amazing.
We were the only table in the restaurant and it took 45 minutes to receive food. None of the food had any taste. Latte was from a machine and came cold- no espresso. Eggs were made from a pre made egg mix- not fresh eggs. I asked for no cheese- all egg dishes had cheese in it. This was a Sunday morning. Empty restaurant, and although the service and ground are gorgeous- this restaurant should be shut down. I’m sorry.

Not up to it's usual high standards. Fireplace not working? Super loud with kids running around unsupervised. Ceiling tiles make the restaurant very loud. Food was subpar; ran out of hamburgers by 7:30p on Saturday night?! We love this place so hopefully mgmt will improve.

From the second we walked in to this beautiful Vermont staple we were made to feel like family. The GM also the sommelier always goes above and beyond to make sure all guests are made to feel like old friends and have the utmost experience while dining there. The food is always delicious here but tonight was exceptional. Our waiter Will was super accommodating and even got creative with the tuna sushi and surprised me w “tuna tartar” since I didn't want the crispy rice that came with it. My boys loved it the way it came and the chef just kept delivering each dish better than the next. Overall from the moment we walked in to the moment we left this was an incredible experience for our family tonight. Thanks so much to Brendan, Will, Peter and the rest of the lovely staff who made tonight one of our best yet! Also water glasses were never empty!!

Me & my boyfriend Joe came to Hermitage Inn for the weekend after Thanksgiving for a weekend getaway. We can't say enough great things about the inn and the restaurant. I booked a private wine tasting with Brendan, the manager, and he was amazing!! He spent over an hour talking to us about the wine and answered all of our questions. He was super knowledgeable and warm. We had the best experience and also saw him at dinner the same night at the end. Dinner was delicious and our waiter, Jacob, was awesome! We can't say enough good things and can't wait to be back!!

As the last seating for the day at a special buffet event, what we found on the buffet line once we arrived was picked over, dried up, lackluster and very disappointing, particularly for the cost. Some of the promised options had already run out. Not the value or quality we were expecting. And, if you're going to charge hundreds of dollars for a bottle of wine, maybe you should not have pages falling out of the wine menu; just a suggestion.

My family and I went for a wonderful thanksgiving buffet. Everything was delicious. Executed perfectly. The staff was accommodating from requests asked and we had a memorable day with no clean up. Hard to not make going to the Hermitage for Thanksgiving a tradition every year. Thanks so much!

We had an unforgettable experience at the Bordeaux wine dinner. We had the pleasure of dining with the proprietor, sommelier, and other delightful guests. The food was absolutely outstanding. The chef spectacularly prepared dishes that paired with the selected wines perfectly. The wines from Boudreaux included a sparkling starter that was unexpected, refreshing and delicious. The representative from the wine company was knowledgeable, passionate and entertaining - giving us background, tasting notes, and lovely conversation. This is our second time at The Hermitage’s wine dinner series. It is a must for anyone in the area and worth the trip if you are not!

Brendan and his entire team deserve high praise! The food was incredible, and our server, Will, was outstanding, making sure our dinner experience was perfect. This restaurant consistently provides one of the best experiences we have, which is a major factor in our decision to return to The Hermitage Inn annually.

Rooms are large and comfortable. Mine had a king size bed for a 6 foot 3 inch guy that is important. The fall color were vibrant with cool cloudy day everything was warm and comfortable. Here for a wedding so food and atmosphere were on point and excellent. Staff was very friendly and very helpful.

We had another fabulous experience at The Tavern eating at the bar on a Friday evening. The space is so warm and welcoming and the bar tender was engaging even though she was super busy. The glassware for the cocktails is absolutely gorgeous and makes such a difference to your experience and did not go unnoticed. We love coming there and are so thankful to have The Tavern in our community.

This is the 3rd or 4th time eating at this restaurant, and it is definitely one place that we will be visiting again. The general manager, Brendan, helped us out with our reservation, which was extremely hard to get. He was so accommodating, honest, and friendly. He made it possible for us to celebrate our anniversary on a busy holiday weekend. The Hermitage Inn is absolutely beautiful. The decor in one room is more beautiful than the next. The ambiance of the restaurant was warm and inviting, with soft lighting and a relaxed atmosphere. The food was absolutely delicious, and the cocktails were as well. Sandra, our waitress, was very friendly, knowledgeable, and helpful in answering any questions prior to our food and drink selection. She checked on us often to see if we needed anything to make our dining experience perfect. Thank you to all that made this once again a great experience. Until next time!

Beautiful dining room and grounds, quaint and cozy. Menu has a good balance of choices. Had the short rib which was delicious. Ordered a shareable mushroom side which was never delivered. Neither was our Pellegrino. They were out of a few wines we chose but the manager came over with a suggested bottle which was comparable in both flavor and price. That was appreciated. They seemed a bit understaffed for a holiday weekend (as mentioned our waiter missed a few things and he even commented he hadn't gotten a chance to get clarity on one of the menu items we inquired about because he was “just too busy”. But it wasn't impactful enough to warrant a completely negative review. Just worth mentioning. Prices were a little on the higher end but not ridiculous. Overall everything was delicious, the staff very friendly and the ambiance was perfect for our anniversary dinner.
