A tremendous Thank You to Sheri!! Despite the crazy and unpredictable deliveries, out of her control, she kept and fed and housed my bees. I cannot express my gratitude and appreciation for her going the extra mile for me. I’m a novice bee keeper who truly needed this extra care! Thank You Sheri!

I called Sheri this morning to ask her about my bees, bees that I purchased elsewhere, bees that I thought were failing. Sheri came over to my house and helped me a ton! her knowledge and compassion for bees is outstanding! I was a lost, first time beekeeper drowning in too many different opinions. Sheri was calm, she answered every question I had and she helped me make a plan for my hive. Love Vermont Beekeeping Supply, LLC.

I first would like to say that we are not new to keeping bees and have done so for 7 years. I usually get nukes from Singing Cedar in Orwell but due to the Covid crisis, decided to use Vermont beekeeping. I had no prior experience with packages before. I got 2. One had profuse diarrhea to the point that out suits were peppered with brown spots. I contacted the supplier and was told it was normal. I emailed 4 times in the 9 day period following purchase, until the hive died, and essentially got no response. The money was just gone. We did replace the dead one with one from Singing Cedars and it is thriving.

Been using this company intermittently since I started beekeeping in 2013. From what I can tell, they make some of their own beekeeping equipment and buy items wholesale to redistribute to customers. Over the past seven years I've been displeased with the genetics of the bees I've purchased from them (I believe the bees come from Georgia). Slow build up, poor honey production, and not cold hardy to VT. This year I purchased three nucs. In typical beekeeping language it's assumed if you're buying a nuc in the spring (nucleus, small colony), the nuc has been over wintered. This ensures the bees are cold hardy and able to sustain themselves through a VT winter. This year all customers were contacted and told the nucs wouldn't be ready until later in May, but you could exchange your nucs for packages. My thought is that VT Beekeeping Supply never even had over wintered nucs and they are just adding packages to nuc boxes and adding a queen. False advertising since I never read anything stating the bees were over wintered in VT (partly my fault for assuming) and also bait and switching their customers for nucs when they never even had them to begin with. Of the three packages I received this year (1 Italian and 2 saskatraz) two came with dead queens. I received a dead saskatraz queen initially in my package and was able to receive a free replacement on the same day. The second saskatraz package was noted to be queenless when the first hive inspection was completed a few days later. The bottom line is stick with a beekeeping company that has true VT over wintered nucs. Good luck beekeeping everyone!
