People here are super rude. I made my appointment online and when i arrived the stylist made a snarky remark about how much work my color is going to take. End result was okay so i made a second appointment months after and had to cancel it a week before and never got a refund for 80 dollars which they said they will. I will never come back here. I do not recommend them they will steal your money!

This salon goes above and beyond to meet the needs of their customers! I received a beautiful cut from Danielle. She paid attention to every detail of my hair and was so friendly every step of the way! Everyone here is extremely friendly and all clearly demonstrate their passion to their work!! The salon itself is so relaxing, especially the chairs you lay in to get your hair washed! Will definitely be returning!

So up until last week, I hadn't gotten a professional haircut in almost 5 years. I moved to this area in 2016 and on a whim finally found the motivation to seek out a new spot. I've walked past this salon a few times on my way to other stores on Evergreen Walk. I remember when the storefront was Green Tangerine and I contemplated going back then. I yelped Elements of Design, saw the glowing reviews, googled it, stalked out the website, noticed you can book online- SOLD! The icing on the cake was a $20 new customer coupon! I'm pretty sure I booked the appointment late on a Saturday night and actually showed up on Tuesday. The salon is clean, modern, and sophisticated. They use Aveda products and in addition to hair they also offer spa treatments such as nails, facials, waxing, massage, and lashes. They also offer bridal services. There is a beautiful waterfall display when you enter and big windows to let in lots of natural light. There are lots of stations spread out but on this dreary Tuesday afternoon I happened to be the only client. When I arrived I was offered coffee, water, and tea and they took my coat and had a movable shelf so my purse could follow me around. The highlight for me was the shampoo chairs- they recline AND the legs go up so you can lay flat and feel super pampered. I was assigned to hair stylist Valerie- a precious gem of a woman who made me feel so comfortable. I have long hair and wanted to keep a fair amount of length so she made sure to show me on a ruler, talk everything through with me, and constantly check in so I could get the exact haircut I wanted. And she did! I was incredibly pleased with her work and she paid a ton of attention to detail. She also gave me information on all the products she used and made sure I was okay with it before she used anything. There was no awkward hard sell at the end to buy anything. The haircut includes a shampoo and blow dry for a price of $55 (as of January 2020) and the service lasts about an hour. This salon is a beautiful, comfortable place and I will happily return. Valerie is an amazing stylist and Lisa, the owner, will go above and beyond to ensure clients are happy with their service.

We got the full treatment from the salon (nails, hair, makeup) before a wedding and we had the BEST experience! The staff was super friendly, fun, and knowledgeable. Most importantly the bride looked and felt beautiful on her wedding day. Thank you Elements of Design for everything!

Last weekend, I had the pleasure of being a bridesmaid in a wedding. Elements of Design did the hair and make-up beautifully for the entire party. They arrived to the bride's house with smiles on their faces and were so excited to be a part of our special weekend. I have never had my make-up professionally done and was not disappointed in the results. The stylist asked for my feedback and in return was able to give me a subtle yet elegant look. My hair stayed in place for the full night. I also received my first pedicure from the salon, which I was a little nervous about at first. The salon is spotless and gorgeous, my worries disappeared. I truly felt pampered!

Elements of Design has stolen my heart! The atmosphere is so welcoming and relaxing and they did a fabulous job on my nails just in time for Valentine's Day. At first I did not know they did so much but they are a full service spa and do hair, makeup, massages, etc. I have never been more happy with the care I received here and immediately felt like family. Check this place out ASAP you won't regret it!!!

I had the pleasure of meeting Lysett a few weeks ago. She took me from a highlighted strawberry blonde to a beautiful platinum blonde. She was very attentive to detail and also extremely knowledgeable. I would recommend her to anybody in search of a talented stylist! -- Also, the salon is a very clean and relaxing environment in a fantastic location.

A true spa feeling from the moment you walk in! The soothing smell of a softly scented candle, a cup of tea as you are greeted by the friendliest of staff...delightful! I traveled from California for the holidays, and always try to book an appointment whenever I'm home because I've found nothing better than Elements of Design throughout the Bay Area. CT has an incredible gem that would easily fit in at any high-end LA or SF boutique area (and the service and experience would be better!) Jenny, the color queen, transformed me from a dark blonde back to my more youthful light blonde color. She confirmed the color choices with me using the color samples to be sure we were thinking the same thing. It came out beautifully and I was complimented right away by others after leaving the salon, which is always nice. Jenny was friendly, talkative and a very warm person besides being talented! I will be back again! If you live in South Windsor, this is a must. If you don't, it is worth the drive time from wherever you are in CT! (I personally drove about 40 minutes and thought absolutely nothing of it!)

Received a 75 minute facial by Briana and I am feeling like a super star! The whole experience was very unique from start to finish! Dry brushing. Aroma journey, hand selected product for your skin type, wonderful mini back treatment at the end of the facial, what more can I say?! They are an Aveda concept spa and have me hooked! There is nothing bad I can say other than that I wish I booked the 90 minute!!! Thanks again Briana, I will be back!

I went to Lysette here to have my hair cut. I loved her and the cut and have gotten a lot of compliments! I showed her a picture of the color and cut and I wanted and she did a great job recreating it for me! If I was only reviewing her, I'd give her a 5, but I also had a brazilian wax with Brianna. The wax was very hot, it took 45 minutes. She didn't remove all of the hair, and when I asked her if she was going to she said, "I can't really get to it." To add to that, she left clumps of hard wax in the hair that she didn't remove. I had to spend 10-15 minutes removing it (very painfully) myself after the wax was over- using only oil and cotton pads. I have had dozens and dozens of brazilians in my life, I have never had anyone leave me sticky with wax in the hair, or ever had anyone refuse to remove all of the hair. If this had been a $50 wax I could have forgiven it- but if you are charging $75, you better remove all of the hair and help get all of the wax off. I was not pleased. I'm not trying to ruin anyone's livelihood, and her technique with the strips was very good. I'm sure she does a great bikini, leg, or eyebrow wax, but I would not go to her for a Brazilian.

I've been visiting Lisa at Elements of Design since 1993... even traveling an hour to get to her when I moved to another part of the state! She is an artist with color, and her salon is an oasis far from the stresses of everyday life. From tea to conversation to wonderful haircare, Elements nourishes me on many levels. You owe it to yourself to make a visit.
