The Home Depot is a large retailer for lawn and garden needs, home improvement products, and tool rentals. Its Garden Center offers a huge array of items including annuals, perennials, trees, shrubs, raised garden beds, organic lawn care products, fertilizer, weed killer, and water and irrigation products like hoses and rain barrels. The store also provides paint tinting services and a rental office for tools like jackhammers. Customer experiences with staff and service vary. Some personnel are described as very efficient, friendly, helpful, pleasant, competent, and willing to go out of their way. However, other reviews indicate that the store often lacks sufficient staff, leading to longer than expected wait times for assistance. There are also reports that staff training needs improvement, with inconsistencies in service and knowledge, such as incorrect refusals to tint primer. Transactions and customer service by phone are reported to be very difficult or impossible to complete, forcing in-person visits. Ordering for curbside pick-up can be unreliable, with significant delays in order readiness. Regarding products and corporate policies, some customers note that prices have gone way up and need to come down, while also observing that product quality seems down compared to the past. Issues with installed products like windows, including damage and unresolved problems, have been reported.
