An incredible staff and experience working with Green Mountain Habitat for Humanity. I highly recommend anyone to volunteer with this amazing group.

I had three leather desk chairs, one of which has a fair amount of wear on the front of the seat but still VERY comfortable and very functional. Other two have very little wear. When I took them to Habitat they couldn't be bothered to even take them out of the car to look at them(I offered to do it). They are on functional wheels, have wear on one, adjustable height adjustable arm rests super clean. The guy was too lazy to even look at them. Buff up your employees. I sold them on Craigslist within an hour! I feel like a lot of people in our community are missing things that they could use and need because Habitat turns them away. Last time I will try them, I'm heading to Craigslist or FreeCycle Burlington.

I love this store, and for the most part would reccomend it to anyone. On the other hand I shop here everyday and there is a woman who works there who talks bad about customers while they are in the store to other customers. This woman should not be employed there. I don't even feel comfortable in there when this woman is working because she always is gossiping about other customers. In this case she was talking about me. Not cool. . Not the first issue with this woman either. This may result in me not supporting this store anymore.

This store is waaay overpriced. I thift all all Vermont stores and this one has the highest costs. If you lower your prices, more merchandise will go out the door. Many people pick to resell if the prices are decent. Otherwise your merchandise might just sit on the shelf forever. Lower your prices!

This store has brought me many great finds over the past 7 years, and the staff is always great. A quick comment to the woman from Essex with a one-star review, below: any time a person makes personal insults and stereotypes in a review (as in, "the d*** Southern bouncer wannabe," as you said), I immediately assume that that person's judgment is not judgment I would trust, I discount that person's perspective, and in fact tend to assume I would feel the exact opposite of how they would. So, Kandy from Essex, thanks for reassuring me that my high opinion of ReStore is in fact accurate!

Stay far away from this place and pay attention to the bad reviews because they are the correct ones! It's not even the exorbitant prices placed on items that is the problem - it's the rude behavior by some of the staff and the deceptive practices they use to steal your money that is unconscionable. Went in there today with my husband (a corporate attorney who can surely navigate a 30 day return policy). He bought a table saw with a $65 dollar price tag and a 30 day guarantee stating it had been tested. Went to checkout and the cashier (Joann according to the receipt) couldn't give him a receipt so my husband was trying to help her learn how to email him one which obviously annoyed her by the giant eye roll she presented. When I asked her if she actually just rolled her eyes at him while he was giving her money she said nothing because she knew she did. Last I knew showing frustration at a customer does not come close to being adequate customer service skills. We came back less than 3 hours later to pick up the saw. Since it was a bulky item and we wanted to save the hassle of bringing it back we plugged it in and it didn't work. The start button also seemed broken making it impossible that it had ever actually been tested. My husband asked the d*** Southern bouncer wannabe at the counter if he could test it in a different plug to which he replied he wasn't sure if that was allowed (huh?) but eventually allowed it. Again, it didn't work and we asked for our money back. The item had literally never left the store. Once again Joann was standing in back of us making funny mouth noises to show her annoyance with the situation. After giving us a hassle and asking my husband to prove he bought the item via a paper receipt (which they couldn't give us to begin with and apparently the emailed one confused the living daylights out of him), we demanded our money back via their 30 return policy The d*** bouncer wannabe then pointed to the door and told us to stand outside if we had a problem while also rolling his eyes. We refused without being refunded and he called a manager who promptly refunded us with a canned apology but could obviously care less about the complete lack of customer service going on. In the mean time bouncer wannabe guy was still on his testosterone rush and defending Joann despite taking off for a break during our first transaction and not even being there. Moving along - it's not our first ridiculous experience in this place. A couple of months ago I bought a bed frame that had all the boards tapped together. Unless I put it together in the store I wouldn't have know it was completely broken although they surely did. It was useless waste of $100 and went to fuel a bonfire. This bed was clearly tapped together to hide all the defects so beware of what you buy there. When I called to ask if I could bring it back the reply was " No, all our items are priced for the condition they are in". From holding fake sales (where prices are marked higher right before a sale), to not honoring policies, hiding defects in items, needless rude behavior, "volunteers" who are antique dealers and take your donations, and a whole host of other oddities by people playing store it's a safe bet to spend your money elsewhere. Some of the volunteers are just plain strange. One old guy makes overtly sexual comments to customers and no one seems to care as if dirty old man are still funny. I have heard and witnessed management on numerous occasions marking prices down for some people and not for others so some shoppers are getting sale prices and others are not. If not for the few lovely individuals who work there and are a joy to see it's just not worth the experience and the likely chance you will be screwed somehow. Please find a community organization that helps the most people (Resource for example) to donate to and spend your money on in the new year.

Great place to own a house specially with the median income. Wonderful people to get the home complete.

I love it here, we always find really amazing deals. We've purchased our couch from here, as well as a few appliances, and even a large 12 seating China set. The prices are fair and the employees and volunteers have always been very kind and helpful.

I found several items at this habitat for humanity store that were very well priced. I brought home a vintage hammered aluminum Lazy Susan that is beautifully etched and quite large during my last visit, and I only paid $4.50 for it. It was exactly what I was looking for, and is easily worth eight times that amount. That find also spawned in me a new interest in vintage hammered aluminum as a collectible. Thank you Habitat for Humanity!

Just a lot of overpriced junk offered by rude employees. I've been in several times and have never found anything of value
