We've been with River Cove now for over 39 years! Many beloved dogs through thick and thin including cancer, vestibular and other less critical issues. We were there back when Dr Ellis was the sole Doctor (and original owner) at this hospital, ...in its infancy. We've stayed with them all through their growth, while adding staff and new Doctors and new protocols and changes through new owners. We're still there! The staff is very accommodating, supportive and prompt to reply when we have issues and questions! They have text capability on their primary phone number! Nice, no missed voice messages and need to call back! We've seen new staff and new doctors there in an ever-changing animal hospital, yet, whoever is at the counter or replying via text, ...the support for pet and client has never diminished at all. It is always A+. Like many businesses now, they have policies that I am fine with in these ever changing times and do be aware that pet care now is very expensive, no matter where you go for quality care. Be prepared for that. Always good vibes at River Cove.........if they can take you on as a client, I highly suggest you bring your pet to them. they will not let you down. Been going here for 12 years with 3 different animals. Today we had an awful experience and were left with an unexpected bill that exceeded what we could afford. We asked if we could pay some today and the rest within a week and we were told no. We asked for any form of a payment plan as it was this or food for our family and we were told no. Despicable treatment. Zero humanity. Be better. We will be leaving this practice.

rivercove Animal Hospital is the best veterinarian hospital around. All of the staff is very caring and considerate. They treat you as if you were family. Dr. English is absolutely amazing. Along with the rest of the staff. My dog Riley actually enjoys going to see Dr. English. I highly recommend them.

I have been with Rivercove Animal Hospital for over 18 years and all I can say about them is they are absolutely wonderful. When we had to put our dog down Dr. English was so compassionate and caring. He made the experience so much smoother for us. He really cared. They truly love each and every animal that they see. The Staff and Veterinarians are efficient, communicative, knowledgeable, patient and KIND. I took my kitten here to be spayed recently. Despite being really busy, I was able to schedule an appointment in a reasonable amount of time. They have taken safety measures around COVID. It’s super easy to drop off your pet. You call or text them when you arrive. They come out to the car and get your pet. The staff are soooooo friendly and helpful. I had a positive experience and would highly recommend them. They are getting busier so be patient and plan ahead if possible.

Recently needed immediate care for a wound on my not-so-friendly, overly anxious hound. I know ALL vets are overwhelmed these days and was feeling unsure as to whether he'd get in when I called. Dr. Bartle agreed to see him and subsequently perform surgery on his leg that turned out to be way more involved than originally thought so I'm sure it made for a much longer day than anticipated. EVERY SINGLE PERSON I dealt with that day and in follow up calls and texts was friendly and patient and informative and helpful. I never felt rushed even knowing they were swamped. Thank you River Cove for decades of amazing care!

My cat needed to be seen this evening for a UTI. I called River Cove after 6:30. There were no appointments available as they were closing in less than 30 minutes. I was making arrangements to bring her to the emergency vet when they called back to let me know Dr. Lincoln could see her tonight. Thank you to Dr. Lincoln, Casey and all the staff for your dedication to the pets you serve! I have been bringing my cats and dogs here for over 25 years and highly recommend them!!

Doctor Joel English is the best vet in the Burlington area. He is very thorough and knowledgeable. He does not make you feel pressured and provides an honest and open treatment discussion. I would highly recommend bringing your pets to River Cove Animal Hospital to see Dr. English.

We've been taking our dogs to Dr Chu at River Cove for over 9 years. She was amazing with our elderly beagle who she treated for various eating adventures as well as kidney disease and he lived many positive healthy years beyond expected under her care. She began seeing our 4 yr old golden doodle as a puppy and our adopted german shepherd. She always follows up by phone and patiently answers questions. She genuinely loves dogs and all of our dogs love her and willingly accept any treatment she gives them. They are happy to go in the vet. The staff is also excellent. Prices seem very fair and Dr Chu always gives options when there are different treatments. She's not one to over-prescribe. We've also worked with Dr English who is smart and helpful too. All the vets there are trustworthy. The staff is quite good on the phone too and make you feel they know your dog personally. They have a good system of reminders for shots & boosters. Highly recommend.

I appreciate they are open during this time of COVID and making the most of it. They pick up and drop off your pet from your car out front and the Dr calls you while you wait to discuss whatever is needed. It may be a bit unusual but I understand and am thankful they are making it work. They were all friendly and professional.
