Crystal did an amazing job!! I’m from Massachusetts but im here for the summer doing research for work! I have seen the same lady since I was child back in Massachusetts because my hair is so thick. It’s scary trusting a new person your hair !! However I have wedding coming up and don’t have the time to go back to Massachusetts. After researching for hours salons around the area I found crystal and her work and I’m so happy I did! You can tell how passionate she is about her work when she does your hair. She is extremely friendly and makes sure your are comfortable throughout the entire process! Best of all her work is amazing ! I am obsessed with how my hair came out !! I was pretty unsure of what I wanted and she was so kind throughout the process! She made sure i understood what she was doing and how it was going to look. I will definitely be seeing Crystal again when I’m in the area !

It's been 2 weeks today and I can't stop looking at my hair!! I'm in love with it lol!! My hair was an unkempt mess, both cut and year old color that had grown out, along with a small amount of silver starting to show. I wasn't sure what I wanted and we talked through it, though I was still indecisive. Crystal wasn't worried, she said I know what you will like. Just trust me! So glad I did, she's amazing! Transformed after a full Balayage and beautiful cut! 💖

I haven’t gotten my hair professionally done in forever. I decided one day I wanted to treat myself. I’ve seen her work and loved it so I thought I’d book with Crystal.
She made this an enjoyable experience all around. From conversations, to getting to know exactly what I want, to letting me know every step of the process, how to maintain it, etc. I personally think she did an amazing job! I loved my hair before but now I really love it and have gotten a lot of compliments on it!
It’s worth the money in my opinion and I’m usually one who doesn’t want to spend it on beauty products and services. I wouldn’t go back… I plan to maintain my hair properly with a professional! The hot products she uses and recommended have treated my hair amazing!

Crystal listened to me, was attentive and gave me great advice, so I let her expertise go to work. I love that she explained things as she worked tirelessly on my hair......and VOILA, the outcome was exactly what I wanted!!

Crystal is incredible at what she does. I’ve been going to Crystal for 8+ years and she is the only person I trust with my hair. Crystal is a specialist with color - not only does she create amazing, signature color for each client, but she ensures that you leave with healthy, beautiful hair.
Crystal has always been straightforward and honest about how long it would take for me to go from virgin brunette hair to a blonde. She is upfront about pricing, always working in my ever-changing budget. She bends over backwards to deliver and I always receive tons of compliments on my hair from friends, family, and strangers alike.
I would absolute recommend Crystal to anyone I know. She is an expert at what she does and I always walk away completely satisfied. Her balayage skills are unmatched and she is a hidden gem in Vermont!

The hard work and dedication Crystal gives to her clients is incomparable.
Green shirt is my lady's first red, black shirt was second and the pink shirt is now.
As you can see my girlfriend is a little indecisive.... But Crystal seems to hit it out of the park each and everytime, being able to communicate the reality and science of hair may be intimidating to some but she WILL NOT let you leave unsatisfied.

I would exercise a lot of caution when choosing to go to Crystal. Yes, she has many positive reviews, but read the negative ones, as well, and use discernment.
Both my daughter and I have had our hair colored by Crystal. Mine was done several years ago, and the technique and execution were decent, but the resulting color was poor. I’m a natural brunette and I requested pearly blonde highlights (which other stylists- when I lived out of state- had no problem achieving). Instead, I ended up with orange/brassy “highlights”. I never went back.
Most recently and unbeknownst to me (while I was traveling out of the country) my daughter made an appointment with Crystal for a balayage. My daughter is a natural dark blonde and requested platinum highlights (which she’s never had any trouble achieving in the past). Once again, same issue with my daughter- decent technique but abysmal color results: orangey-yellow streaks instead of the almost-white she was aiming for. To add insult to injury, when both my daughter and I requested a refund not only did Crystal refuse, but what’s more she blocked us on her phone. Unbelievable. I have never dealt with such unprofessional behavior.
My daughter already left a review below (see “Yasmine”) and, classic Crystal when she receives a negative comment or criticism, she shows zero accountability or ownership for her work. All she can offer is a nonchalant “good luck with your color correction, sweetheart”, equivalent to a shrug of the shoulders . For the outrageous prices she charges (upwards of $1,000), she ought to deliver the absolute BEST in the industry or offer a full refund. Her nonchalance and her refusal to offer a refund is shameless. I wish Crystal good luck with her business and I hope she can reflect on how to improve her customer service so that she can retain all customers, even the dissatisfied ones. Thank you for reading.

Another great experience at Rustic Roots. Great atmosphere and Crystal takes her time and makes sure hair is perfect! I always walk out feeling so much better. She knows exactly what my hair needs and how to color it best for the time of year! Highly recommend!
