It was a 4 hour drive to pick up my dog, but it was worth it. The dog is healthy, has all his shots and very sweet.

My son recently adopted a dog from VEBR. Great communication and excellent experience. We’re loving our new family member.

We had a fantastic experience with the Vermont English Bulldog Rescue! Nicole was incredibly kind and helpful throughout the entire process. It is really clear that she ( and the organization as a whole) deeply cares about finding the right match for each person/dog.
We adopted Whinny—now Olive—and she’s been the perfect addition to our family. The adoption process was smooth and thoughtful, and we could tell Olive had been well cared for before coming home.
We’re so grateful to Nicole and the whole team for sending us home with Olive. I highly recommend this rescue to anyone looking to adopt!

I would not recommend working with, Donna or her establishment. As someone who is needing to rehome my bulldogs I solicited her help in efforts of trying to find my boys the best possible home.
I’ve never rehomed an animal and have never felt more shame from her after receiving text messages that I feel were accusatory and not helpful in nature last night. I have friends trying to assist me with trying to find my kids the best home and they cross shared photos of my dogs and the posting on her site. I was accused of working with other rehoming agencies (which I was not) and was belittled for sharing my location with interested parties on the post she shared on her page about my boys.
Long story short, it tricked to this morning when I asked more probing questions such as if she charges a potential parent an adoption fee and how much. I was feeling duped by her lack of sharing. She finally disclosed she charges (but not how much) and never shared the entire process in the beginning of our journey of how much she charges, that she doesn’t want clients trying to rehome their own or working with other reputable establishments.
TBH, it feels like she was upset at me with the potential of losing money if I rehomed my dogs or if another agency assisted. Glad someone encouraged me to ask deeper questions despite my desperation of trying to find my babies the love and care they deserve.
Shame on you, Donna! I’m appalled you didn’t disclose information to me and I’ll happily share any and all text messages if anyone is interested with who they’re doing business with. You tried to gaslight me and it doesn’t feel good. You should demonstrate more empathy for people in a horrible situation and as a business person try to demonstrate yourself with honesty, integrity and a sense of compassion Own your inability to share information and don’t try to say every rehoming agency does the same to try and save face.

Excellent experience with VEBR. They coordinated to bring my girl home to me. They were compassionate and efficient, and you can tell there is love behind every rescue. Pam was amazing and even arranged for me to talk with the foster before we committed . If you are looking for a new family member, this is the place to go. Our girl Ziva, aka Athena, came fully vetted. With all vaccinations, and microchipped. Highly recommend!

We adopted a little guy this weekend, and everyone at this rescue is such a rockstar. Our friend was shy and nervous because of the previous family, and the rescue was very clear in communicating his needs and letting us know so we were aware of what we were signing up for. They were prompt going through our application and made sure that we would be a good fit. The people here care and love dogs, a lot of them from all walks of life. They do a great job at trying to find good homes for these dogs and treated us with such patience and respect as we figured out if Ollie was a good match with our current dog. Thank you for your work VEBR!

They are not inclusive. They treat you nicely if you know someone within their rescue or community but they mistreated myself and my partner when trying to inquire about 3 different puppys. If necessary I will show the email from a really mean volunteer who responded aggressively when I asked about timing

I just wanna say from the bottom of my heart working with Dawna from Vermont English bulldog rescue, has been a wonderful experience. She is an angel from heaven. I never did think that I will be in a position that I couldn’t take care of my dog anymore.
I had to find her a place for her, Dawna walked me through the process step by step.

Kind of hard to adopt a dog when they don't bother to contact you either way. Oh well.
Edit to the owner: That's cool. There was an application to a specific bulldog. Nice try though.
