1836 Country Store is a wonderful and fantastic local shop in Wilmington, Vermont, described as the best store in southern Vermont and a treasure. It is a very cute country store that feels like going back in time. The store is known for having the best cheddar cheese, along with other offerings like fresh baked bread, fancy fudge and truffles, old fashioned candies, local syrup, sauces, and spices. It also features nice souvenirs, cute little toys for kids, and the best gifts in Vermont. Visitors and Mt Snow travelers recommend stopping to find a special something to take home. The staff is noted as very friendly.

Very helpful and pleasant staff. Wide assortment of Vermont items. Purchased gifts for friends: very attractive VT bear and moose maple syrup by local producer Corse Farm. Delighted.
