It started with the initial call with Jen, who was.kind and professional plus they followed up a few days before with a phone call too! Caleb and his crew were amazing! They came in did what they needed, asked questions when they were unsure and we were very impressed on how polite and respectful this group of young men were! They packed a whole house in the truck in about an hour and a half and were careful and respectful with my mom’s belongings! I would highly recommend Vermont Moving and Storage for anyone planning a move!

Don’t get me wrong they were helpful moving the bed from downstairs to upstairs. It was the attitude problem we got when my grandmother called them. They put the bed in the wrong place and when she called them they blamed it on my grandmother saying she should’ve checked if it was in the right place before they left even though she can barely get up the stairs

They showed up on time and were courteous. Everyone was ready to go when they arrived. They had a foreman and everyone seemed to be experienced and responsive. I will not see my furniture until much later as they loaded a U-Pack freight trailer that was going across the country. The foreman assured me several times that he knew what he was doing and to relax. We will see when it arrives if it was packed well enough to survive the trip. The bill was $400 more than what we were originally quoted, and that wasn't fun on the end of a very long day when we were exhausted. The amount of hours to do the job was not more than what was originallly estimated, so that was frustrating. Also the foreman was a little defensive when I was naturally worried about our furniture being wrapped well enough to make the trip. If you're as good as you say, then no need to be defensive, but you are young and will come to understand that with age. Someone being worried about their worldly possessions isn't a personal slight against you...it's just human. Nice guys though and everyone worked super hard. I'd hire them again provided my things arrive packed well in the freight trailer. Thank you for all of your hard work.

We chose Vermont Moving and Storage’s Winooski office to handle our long-distance move from Vermont to Maryland. Throughout the process, we were consistently impressed by their professional style. Jennifer was very responsive to questions and changes from the estimation phase all the way through our actual move-date. Our moving team (Caleb & all others) was polite, competent, fast, and readily handled some unplanned packing on the day of our move. Some 500 miles later when I’m waiting on the phone with my bank regarding our payment, we’re still receiving excellent customer service from our movers – they’re professionals and they know the process inside-out!

Moving staff were quick and efficient. It did go $100 above quoted price. Make sure you understand how much packing materials cost, ask questions up front, nothing is free including tape, let them know if there's an item like a picture or a fan that you DON'T want packaged.

The front office scheduled my service for the wrong day and the packers showed up 2.5 hours early and were already "running the meter" so I was being changed while the team waited for me to finish up a few things in the house before they got started. The packers only half filled boxes and didn't wrap fragile items. The guy who loaded the shipping container was great at least and is the only reason the business got a second star.

I recently moved from Williston to Aiken,SC and used VM&S for the move. The men who handled the moving were very professional and worked in a quick in and effective manner. I wouldn't hesitate to recommend them to my family and friends.Rob Spaulding

We hired Vermont Moving & Storage to move our household from Williamstown to Barre in April. I must say the three guys who showed up really hustled and worked hard. But I think in their push to be time-effective, they missed things...many boxes and some furniture ended up in the wrong places (although they worked to fix some things before they left - we just were overwhelmed and didn't notice all of the wrong placements until later), and when they just up and left the house we were moving from, there was still about five pick-up truck size loads of stuff left that we ended up having to move ourselves. I would have preferred to pay overtime, if that's what it would have taken, but we weren't given an option - they just left at half time (so to speak). Also, they were quite careless moving my stainless steel fridge and the doors are now all scratched up, with one or two dents as well - nothing we can do to fix them. I was very sad to see that. Also, we were told they could pack stuff, if directed. We had them pack about four boxes, and one of them contained a copper sculpture that was just thrown in a box with other things and it ended up bent all out of shape. So, we end up with a mixture of good and bad here - hard workers, met the estimate, but careless in a few areas. I think I might hire them again, but would certainly have a heart-to-heart prior to any move and point out these shortcomings.

I used this company to move us from one town to another last August. When they arrived at the new house, I asked them to put all the boxes in the garage, because the builders were still finishing the inside of the house and I wanted to keep everyone out of everyone else's way. THEY BROKE A TON OF MY STUFF, PUTTING BOXES THAT READ FRAGILE ON THE VERY BOTTOM AND THROWING HEAVY BOXES ON THEM!!!!!!!!! I did not know this until I was able to get everything unpacked, and by then, of course, was more than 10 days later-the time limit to make a claim which is completely ridiculous. If I were you, I’d choose another company.

If I could give this company a 0 star review, I would. Not only is the service they provide expensive, they also don't provide self-storage and require you to use their movers to access your storage unit. So, if I wanted to grab my belongings, I would have to pay to have them retrieve one product? This moving company was extremely unprofessional. When emailing about quotes and services, was responded with attitude and disrespect, especially from Jennifer L. They do not have any consideration for their customers, so be cautious when looking for their business.

I did not have a good experience with this company. Damaged my baby grand Steinway, lost pieces and all they offered is a $300. check.

Beware!! This local company cancelled my cross country move with less than 2 weeks notice and offered no compensation.I had been warned they do this regularly (Jennifer also admitted they did it to others this summer) but I was lured by the low price and that they were local.Shop around for a more professional company that has back up or take your chances with this bunch. Not worth the risk. I am out thousands and stuck for months since movers book well in advance. Thanks Vermont Moving and Storage for throwing me to the dogs.Please note after their response, I was still out thousands of dollars and left on my own to figure it out. I was never offered help to find another company or offered any monetary compensation. Others have said the same so beware. With so many great moving companies and Vermont to choose from, stay away from this one.
