Pointless to go in no one wants to help all cashiers stand around talking and want to direct you to full service DMV rather than help you plus they can't do anything for tags or titles after 4:30 why not just close then so you can stand around 30 minutes and gossip and get paid makes most sense

This place sucks, I just moved up here from Florida, and I tell them every time I LIVE WITH FAMILY I don’t have any bills or lease yet because I can’t get one till I have a va Id because a lot of people up here don’t rent to out of state people I have been there 3 times and it’s always something different we don’t take e-title, we need a brith certificate not a sns number, we can’t get in the the fl dmv but did because they ask me why I was there when I order my fl title they just don’t want to work, I get they have rules but when someone has two forms of residency one forms local job and another like come on if you don’t wanna help just say so I will go somewhere else

The guy that signed me in was pleasant... I hope he doesn't get in trouble for smiling. Policy and procedures can be taught however soft skills...you either have or you don't...most look at you like "what do you want"..on the defensive ...so condescending...Must be a qualification for employment.

I was told to come back to the counter after finishing something and someone was in front of me with a lot of paperwork I waited so long I could have had my title changed and been well on my way home. Other lines were empty and someone else could have helped me but the attendant didn’t even acknowledge I was there he already knew I just needed my title and registration done. Typically I’m nice and easy to get along with but there’s just no reason to leave someone standing that long with other windows open.

I was at the DMV in Abingdon today, I could not believe it they had 4 or 5 tellers open when I got there at about 11:30, there were a lot of people in their, those lady's could not work any slower if they tried, that place is a joke and to think this is where our tax dollars are going. Who ever is over that DMV needs to be FIRED...

I'd give a zero star if it was an option. The supervisor of this facility hates people. She's determined you to never receive a driver's license. I've come to her 3 times and every time she comes up with the new rule/law (Was not told/asked previously!!!) to deny me license renewal. I understand that bureaucracy needs to be bureaucracic, but this is beyond the worst imaginable expectation. This woman makes Virginia the place you never want to be. So unwelcoming. Absolutely the worst experience ever!

I had a very positive experience over the phone on Dec. 1. Very helpful and extremely courteous. Was a young woman, I wish I could remember her name. Best DMV experience I've ever had.

Worst customer service I've ever experienced. Window 1 and 2 very rude - serious power tripping. I had all original certified documents on the list (and more than needed) and denied license. They wanted an original marriage certificate from 26 years ago - I had a copy but all other required documents original. The list doesn't require a certified marriage certificate at all it was 26 years ago. I am going to complain to the DMV headquarters and State Representative. I've never ever complained before and have had only positive experiences since moving to Virginia love everything. This was wrong on their end. My car is even registered same list to comply and no issue.

The experience of getting my license here was awkward. Strange requests and questions from the clerk when I had all the required documents, being asked to keep smiling more for the photo which hasn't happened to me in 25 years. People talking loud with the plexiglass divider making it difficult to hear what she was saying. I didn't like the vibe at this DMV at all. My father didn't take kindly to the other clerk saying his hair color was inaccurate either, she said it had to be in the system as "white" instead of gray. How insulting is that? The only redeeming quality about this place was the security guard who was friendly with the people sitting in queue.

Made an appointment for 3:30 went in about 15mis early to check-in and had my tags and vehicle registered in less then 15mins was back in my car at 2:29.Fastest experience ever at a DMV10/10 would recommend planning out your day and using the DMVnow site to make an appointment.

Security is welcoming and helpful.Service staff is fairly easygoing and helpful.Only issue I have seen is inconsistency between staff interactions.
