Donna was a friendly and laid back host. Her home is so lovely-in the best sense of the English boarding house tradition with a sweet hall-access bathroom for my accomodations. Welcoming and an easy walk to all the best attractions of Main Street and the historic district, there is convenient parking, charming outside spaces and public rooms, including a music parlor and library. Thanks to Donna's 'insider tip' I got the chance to hear some amazing live music and hang out with a great group of local folks. After a long, full summer's day my guest room was cool and my bed comfortable. I brought back a sweet treat from the Tavern and settled in with a good book on the private balcony adjacent to my room. What an enjoyable stay and wonderful opportunity to support a local business owner!

We had a lovely stay in the Colton Suite at Gather Inn in downtown historic Abingdon. It's a short walk to great restaurants and the Barter Theatre. The bed was comfortable; the shower was great. Comfortable, interesting décor. Donna is a gracious hostess.

What a great find! Downtown within walking distance of so much... art, shopping, food, the Creeper... great location! The home is absolutely beautiful and the room was fabulous! Donna was a very gracious host... will stay again!

I needed a quiet last minute get away and the Gather Inn provided exactly that. Donna was wonderful and welcoming Inn keeper.
Gather Inn is perfectly situated to offer all that Abingdon, Va. has to offer within walking distance. I will absolutely stay agin in the near future.

Great location on Main Street , just down from the Barter Theater. I have stayed there twice and it is a great little getaway .

Our host Donna was absolutely gracious and knowledgeable of the area. The rooms are well appointed and the home is beautifully decorated. The location is in the center of town within walking distance of many restaurants and shops. The Gather Inn is a must stay while visiting Abingdon.

Right in the heart of Abingdon lives this beautiful home with great amenities and an even greater host. Donna made me feel right at home during my visit. Will stay again if we venture back this way!

Beautiful!!! We stayed here during the Yeti 50 Miler in June. Easy walking distance to so many wonderful things. Guitars, piano, library... Donna has an amazing property and location. I look forward to returning in the future.

Beautiful property in the center of historic Abingdon. My suite was clean and ready when I arrived and was exactly as described! I felt so welcomed and "at home" at Donna's - easy to see why she has named it the “Gather Inn”! I will definitely be back to stay here so that I can explore more of Abingdon and the SW VA area!

Do yourself a favor and book your stay at the Gather Inn (in the heart of Abingdon’s historic district). The ambiance Donna creates is lovely, warm, clean and spacious. She insures the comfort and happiness of her guests with grace, skill, generosity and kindness. Donna graciously opens various rooms of her historic home (including the kitchen) to her guests—bookshelves and art (some supporting local artists) line the walls. I slept well in an exceptionally comfortable bed and quiet room. My stay was relaxing, inspiring, comfortable and restorative. Thank you, Donna!

The Gather Inn was the perfect place for a rehearsal dinner! We hosted 40 people comfortably in the home. There is ample seating, room for guests to mingle and a great set up for food in the kitchen. The decor is lovely and warm.
Donna is a wonderful hostess and came through for us at the last minute. She was so accommodating and opened her home. Highly recommend!!

We've hosted our staff holiday party at The Gather Inn 2 years in row. The house is roomy enough for a large crowd (we had about 20 folks) and has several rooms for everyone to spread out. The kitchen is sizeable with room for a nice spread and also contains those extra items that you may have forgot to bring! Donna, the owner, is warm and gracious and always makes sure we have everything we need. Everyone in our group loves this space because of the warm and inviting atmosphere.

Love the Gather Inn. Donna is a very gracious and accommodating host. Her beautiful home is your beautiful home during your stay. Perfect for entertaining. We had friends over for a fun gathering on her patio. Historic home in walking distance to Restaurants, The Barter Theatre and Martha Washington Inn. We have already booked our room for our visit to Abingdon next year.Pat and Alben
