Every year a dear friend of mine gives me a gift certificate for Thistle Ridge. She seems to think this gift is predictable and boring...however each year I look forward to it because I LOVE these soaps. In fact I loved them so much that I did not think they could get any better...but then I ordered the soap Saver Pouch last year...which is also wonderful to use with the soap...use it as a scrub pouch and WOW watch the amazing lather...and delightful aromas from these soaps. SO grateful for these soaps and my friend who gifts them to me each year!!

My husband and I visited this unusual little shop after our Virginia creeper excursion. The shop is in a run of the mill area but this shop is anything but! The soaps are made in an area connected to the store and the lady who runs the shop is pleasant and knowledgeable. The store carries a variety of inexpensive gifts: soap dish holders, loofah sponges, shaving bars and brushes, beautiful handmade jewelry. Having tried the soap when I got back home I can say the soap is creamy and lightly scented and leaves your skin silky soft. The bar of soap seems to last long as it is still firm after using for several days, so it will probably last long.

This is not your granny's homemade soap. This is sweet cream and blissful aroma in a bar that will leave your skin as soft as silk. The soap can be used as a wonderful shampoo also. The chamomile rose is my personal favorite. Stop into this little shop when you are in the area. The staff is friendly and knowledgeable.

From the moment I walked through the door, my senses were overcome with the smell of lavender and mint and and and... Okay, not overcome (you get overload from a place like Yankee candle) but more like just touched enough. In the store there are neatly organized bins filled with this scent of soap or that... there are collections of variety soaps... there are neat little gift soaps with the loofah right inside the bar... there are other gifts and accessories and such... but it's the soap that you go here for. If you look past the little shop there is a huge back room where all the soap are made on premises. You can see them sorted and sliced and placed into plastic bins awaiting packaging (but nothing sits in those bins too long, as everything is fresh and wonderful). They make everything without artificial colors and with the finest essential oils. And if you can't actually make it to Walhalla to the shop, well, no problem... you can also order online.
