William King Museum is a free art museum in Abingdon with frequently rotating exhibits. It hosts interesting traveling and regional displays, including contemporary art highlighting the local area and historic exhibits featuring pottery, furniture, and paintings from prior times. The museum presents a variety in each room, from art deco posters to urban and graphic art. It also offers workshops where visitors can see art happening. The staff are very nice and the facilities are clean. This gem is a great place to take in local culture and historic artifacts, with all visits considered well worth the trip. Donations are welcome.
Free museum with frequently rotating exhibits. Any time I'm in Abingdon I stop by here to see what's new and it is always worth it.
