Customer service was non-existent. There are no paper menus and one is expected to order from and pay from a QR code. You carry your food and drink to a table, after being pointed to another room to pick it up. It’s definitely a self service eatery. There are no servers to pretend they are glad that you are spending $. The cheese and fruit plate was ordinary. The scenery is great but I have no plans to return.

If you're going for the views, EASY 5 stars, BUT...if you plan to eat and drink there, maybe reconsider. **NOT DOG FRIENLY,** (Which, in my opinion is a huge misstep in an area abundantly full of dog lovers looking to include their 4-legged friends in their weekend plans). This place is GORGEOUS. We go every few months for the clean mountain air, and the perfectly Virginian views, but every time, it takes a while to return because we have yet to find a wine varietal that we actually enjoy drinking - and we're trying & we'll keep trying since the views are so pretty, but we would love it to be a pleasant experience all around. We're hoping the vineyard is just young and needs some time to get it's lets under it.That said, the food is also a problem, the last time we were there, we had what can only be described as microwave-like pizza, and frozen solid ice cream sandwiches...if they took a note from Early Mountain's food, or at least offered a nice, reasonably priced "snack" menu, we would be there every weekend. As I said, it's gorgeous, and worth a trip for the views, but if you're doing a vineyard crawl, I would dedicate more time to other places with better wine/food. We'll keep going occasionally, and I'll update the review as needed! This place has HUGE potential.**Update, visited over the weekend (beginning of February) and though I generally don't reach for white wine over red, their new release Gruner is actually pretty good, and my friends ordered a pizza, which was an upgrade from prior food. Also, wine-wise, if you lean towards heavier reds, go with the BDX over the cab sav.

Place was not very busy, 20 minutes standing at bar, workers talking and joking with each other - no acknowledgement.. no hi … nothing!!! It’s really a shame a winery that is brand new, millions spent on building and terrible service. Should’ve spent more money on customer service and professional behavior. We have been to more than half of the wineries in VA and have never been treated in that manor. Won’t be coming back anytime soon! Too many wonderful wineries that know how to treat customers.

Solid place with amazing vistas. The wine was so amazing. They offer pizzas and proper spaces to enjoy the outside. Would absolutely return. The wine selections were small but varied

I wish the menu had pictures of the food! ? Also, the restrooms could use some cleaning. Other than that, the place is great!

This winery is a piece of Italy in the beautiful mountains of VA. I read previous reviews and from doing some research it’s seems like the locals didn’t want something like this here. Well…I like the evolution and change in the area. The food is amazing…especially the flatbreads. The wine selection is very good and this place had some of the best reds in the region. They offer beer as well so how could you not like that everything is here? The views of the rolling hills of vineyards are spectacular. We went near sunset and it was breathtaking. Staff was attentive and very friendly. I would recommend you go.

Now that we’ve discovered this gorgeous winery, we’ve become regulars! The mountaintop views are outstanding and overlooking the rolling vineyards below. Beautiful sunsets! Also, many choices of wines, beer and food to keep your tastebuds happy. My favorite is the 2018 Chardonnay. Service has always been good and friendly. Plenty of inside and outside seating.

The views are worth the trip.I disagree with some of the other reviewers: I think the wine and the beer are both good - there are better breweries and wineries in the area, but the drinks aren’t “bad.”The food is terrible. Go for the views and drinks, but skip the food.Staff is super friendly, and in November they were open a bit later than other places. If the food were better I think it would be a 5 star experience between the views and drinks.

Amazing views and good wine. The food is great too. We loved the pizza! The aesthetics are money, money, money, but at its heart, it's still good southern hospitality. We will go back!

Man...I want to keep this place a secret sooooo bad, but I just can't! It's like an Italian vineyard set in tuscany...absolutely stunning views and venue. The rose is very nice, and the food on point. I'm coming back, again. And again, and again
