My experience with Alexandria Compounding Pharmacy has been significantly less than satisfactory, which compels me to share this review. The primary issue has been their alarming lack of communication. Both my physician and I have made numerous attempts to reach out to the pharmacy through phone calls, emails, and faxes, only to be met with complete silence over the course of a week. In a sector as crucial as healthcare, such an absence of communication is not only inconvenient but potentially harmful. On a positive note, it is good to see that the pharmacy has recently reopened. However, this positive development is overshadowed by their failure to address the underlying issues. There has been no explanation for their previous unresponsiveness, no apology to those affected, and no effort made to rectify the situation. This lack of accountability is concerning, especially from a healthcare provider. Adding to the frustration, during this period of silence regarding essential communication, the pharmacy has continued to actively send out marketing emails. This suggests a concerning prioritization of marketing efforts over essential patient communication and care. In summary, while the reopening of Alexandria Compounding Pharmacy is a welcome step, it does not compensate for their significant shortcomings in communication and customer service. An apology and a transparent explanation to their customers are essential steps toward remedying this situation. I hope this feedback encourages the pharmacy to improve its communication strategies and overall service to its patrons.

I’m so happy to have this pharmacy open again. I have never had any complaints with Alexandria Compounding pharmacy, they always fill my prescriptions quickly and the staff is very professional and friendly. Thank you!!!

As other reviewers have mentioned, this business is now closed. Called a few hours before driving to the shop, and unlike others there wasn't a recorded message.There are no signs at the front to indicate they are closed, aside from the altered hours on the door, and the information on google still claims their business hours are from 9a.m. to 5p.m.Will someone from this business please update the info?

Like all the other recent posts, I was very confused by the lack of communication when Alexandria Compounding Pharmacy closed. After trying to call for a week with no response, I contacted my vet. They, too, were confused, and investigated. The vet's office was able to confirm that the pharmacy had unexpectedly closed, and immediately referred me to Akina Pharmacy, which also offers compounding services. Akina has been excellent for us so far. However, the vet did not know why Alexandria Compounding Pharmacy had closed so mysteriously. Very disappointing and very irresponsible of that business. A stunning breach of ethical conduct.

Never open. What is going on? I have tried all days and all hours. Courtesy would have required at least a message about whether they are permanently closed. We depend on them. This is awful customer service. Very ashamed of them.

My rescue purchased prescriptions and they failed to send me any receipts. We asked numerous times and they will not provide us with receipts. I have emailed and called. I just called again and it is impossible to get a person on the phone. I have serious concerns about the credibility of this pharmacy.

The pharmacy should be held legally liable for the damage it’s cost to many patients. When you close a business an email would be greatly appreciated, if you can’t send an email, have a kid write closed forever with a cute crayon and poster board and stick it. You don’t send confirmation emails that your prescription has been received and will be delivered only for you to wait a week and try and call to check on the status on to get “ we’re sorry, no one can take your call right now”. They should complete the message by saying or EVER! CAUSE WE CLOSED AND DIDN’T FEEL THE NEED TO LET YOU KNOW!

I have called 15 times, nothing, I have emailed 5 times nothing. I think they've gone under/closed. Could have least let their customers know!

The first few times we worked with this Pharmacy, it was great. We can't go into the store physically, so we have to call and get delivery. The meds got delivered to our house super fast and they offered coupons to make things cheaper. In the past few weeks though, we can't get in contact with them. Their phone just immediately hangs up on you, regardless of the menu selections you make. If you try and make a refill request online, it's like they don't see it. We gave it a whole week, but we only ever received the initial confirmation email, and the meds never came. Our doctor can't even get through to them. We now need to go to a completely different pharmacy because they're just neglecting any patients that can't come in person.

Have you ever just tried to call up your pharmacy one day and get “your call cannot be completed as dialed”? That’s what happened here.I’m not sure what’s going on. Myself and my physician have attempted to contact the pharmacy via email, phone, and even fax — no response (for the last week).I understand that things happen, but communication is important, and this is where this pharmacy is failing. Clearly there is some kind of problem, which perhaps could even be empathized with, but instead of communicating with their patients, they’ve gone completely silent!But are still managing to send out their marketing emails.

Closed for business with no notice online or via the automated phone system (which automatically declines calls and has for a week). I was allowed to order a refill online, and even got a confirmation email, but it was never filled. Unacceptable. Now scrambling to find life saving medication for my dog on no notice.

Completely unresponsive in refilling my cat's medication which he then ran out of. Pharmacy does not include syringes for medication requiring them, which pales in comparison to them not answering their phones or refill requests, but essentially I would never trust them ever again because of this.

I am actually very disappointed in this pharmacy. I've had good experiences, as long as your prescription is correct and you don't have to get it transferred to another pharmacy. They are currently "doing pharmacy paperwork and are unable to fill any medications at this time." One of their representatives said she would call in my prescription for my rabbit who is in pain, to a compounding pharmacy in Arlington. That was last Thursday. I still don't have a prescription from anyone. I received a phone call from another representative who asked me last where I would like your prescription transferred. I don't understand why my prescription still hasn't been called in a week later. This is poor communication on their part and definitely terrible customer service, especially since I am almost out of medication for my poor geriatric rabbit… and not due to neglect of me not calling with plenty of notice to have this prescription made. Sounds like their "pharmacy paperwork" is more like a licensing issue. I am never using them again.

I love this pharmacy i don't trust anyone with my compounded medications or My pets medications. They always go above and beyond to make sure we Have everything we need. The staff is amazing thank You to everyone for all your hard work
