Amvets Thrift Store has been a go-to destination for bargain hunters and treasure seekers for many years. Located in the Fort Hunt neighborhood, near the Costco and Fort Belvoir, this thrift store offers a diverse selection of clothing, household items, furniture, and other miscellaneous goods. Customers often praise the store's organization, with well-stocked floors and occasional promotions that make for great deals. Many have found "lovely treasures" and cool clothes, some with department store tags still attached, during their visits. The store's affiliation with AmVets allows for convenient home pickup of large furniture donations, which is a valuable service. While the prices may be considered high by some, the store's staff is generally described as kind and helpful, albeit sometimes a bit worn down. One customer noted a particularly "unhappiest" cashier, but acknowledged that this is a common occurrence in thrift stores, where employees often face challenging working conditions. Overall, Amvets Thrift Store is a beloved community resource, offering a unique shopping experience and the opportunity to find hidden gems at affordable prices. Customers frequently return, a testament to the store's quality and the satisfaction it brings to those seeking a bargain or a one-of-a-kind find.

Everything was very good, except for this person being rude to me. She should be banned from this store.

I was pleasantly surprised. The building, although clean, could use an interior refresh-renovation. The merchandise is in excellent shape and item choices are very good. Definitely worth visiting and donating to.
