I have been with the same hairstylist since 7th grade. I used to live in FL but recently moved to VA after marrying my now husband. I came to Slam Curl Studio after three months of searching and scared to try someone new. My hair was dry y'all, crusty and dusty… my ends screaming for help. I had the honor of having Diondra cut and style my hair and let me tell y’all she UNDERSTOOD the assignment. Not only did she make me feel comfortable and loved on, she took her time to not only listen but to hear what I had to say. My hair has NEVER in all my life felt this good. If y'all need a curly cut Diondra at Slam Curl Studio is the way to go! You will not be disappointed. The first photo is my before and the last two are my after!! I brought my 18 year old niece here to Julia for a cut and style because she’s struggled with her curly hair and not had a truly professional curly cut. I had just picked her up when she had the biggest smile and said “omg that is the best place ever, finally someone was able to do exactly what I wanted and Julia was so nice, easy to talk to.” Especially as she’s struggled with her hair due to some medical issues in past years, it was so gratifying to see her that happy. We will definitely be back when she comes to visit and highly recommend them to others!

I had such a fabulous experience here and hope I never need to find a new salon.
I have never liked getting my hair done and have avoided it like the plague. But I decided to go here after years of not setting foot in a salon, and it was the best decision I could have made. Diondra really listened to what I wanted and my hair turned out better than I could’ve hoped. Not only that, everyone in the salon contributed to a warm and welcoming experience. I would give more stars if I could.

From walking in the door and up the stairs carrying an inspirational message, my experience is always joyful and warm. The entire crew takes care of you and makes you feel comfortable and welcome, more like a friend than a visitor or customer.

Easily the best curly cut I have gotten! I am new to the area and was in desperate need of a refresh. After researching options in the area, I made an online appointment with Kathy. The experience was wonderful! Kathy examined my hair, quickly identified what she could work on, asked my thoughts, and got to work. She checked in throughout the cut, making sure I agreed with her thoughts. I love how it turned out! I feel like curly hair is so often cut too short since it shrinks, and the length is honestly perfect. I’ll be back!

I have been going here for almost 10 years. Anita is a genius with pixie cuts. Diondra has been unreal with color and cut now that my hair is long. I have super fine hair and she layers it to perfection. I never thought I’d have such amazing hair.

I have been coming here for 10ish years and Sarah always has a smile on her face when I walk in the door. The vibe of the place is great, she has put in all new chairs, mirrors, great color, music, and tons of natural light. Most importantly she does a great job cutting my hair every time. Let’s not forget the great people who help around her. I got my head scrubbed and it was lights out. If I had something that I didn’t like I would say so but this place really hits the marks for me, definitely recommend.

Diondra is amazing. She’s cut my hair short, long, with and without bangs, and she always does an incredible job. I’m amazed at how quickly she can look at a Pinterest picture and then cut it EXACTLY like that.

I have naturally wavy/curly hair that I could never style right without it frizzing up. Kathy thoroughly talked me through her process of how to style my hair curly so I can do it at home, and she was always checking up to see if I had any questions about her process. She did a fantastic job, I’ve never loved my natural hair so much, and I got so many compliments on it! Will definitely be back to get some treatments and get styled again by her.
