I’ve had to move every year or so for the last decade, and this was absolutely BEST truck rental experience I’ve ever had.This one man shop is run by a KING!

We went budget in the morning, 4/28/2023 at 8 am , we met with Mathew he was the most welcoming person , he is very professional and courteous , I will recommend all my friends to take their business to budget, just because Mathew made it happen

I had a rental pick-up through this location a couple weeks ago and am beyond frustrated by my experience due to the extreme inconvenience and poor service during my moving process.After 11 hours of inconvenience and wasted money, I was offered a $10 refund.It was my first and last time using Budget Truck Rentals.Overall, the only shred of positive experience was that Matthew at the office was very professional in helping us through the process and tried many avenues to get us the answers we needed, but it was very clear that he was given several instances of false information to relay to us.The reservation was made 1 month in advance, and I was able to use a 20% promotion as a first-time customer.We arrived on time to pick up our reserved equipment and were notified there car dolly was not available but that it would be the following day. He noted that it was in Chantilly, VA and would not be delivered until the next day. It was unacceptable that we were receiving this information on the day of pick-up and not notified the day before when we could have looked into other options.Because of this issue and waiting for several phone calls to be made to (unsuccessfully) secure an alternate car dolly, we were late to meet our movers and had to pay them for an additional hour of work to wait for us.Later on we were told that the dolly was actually going to be delivered to Alexandria by 4pm instead.At 4pm, it still not arrived. We were then told that it was coming from Winchester VA and that the arrival time was now 5:30. When asked what happened to the dolly coming from Chantilly, no one knew the answer.Apparently the driver left Winchester at 2:45. We reviewed traffic conditions on the map showing no delays, so it should not have taken nearly 2.5 hours to arrive.Since we had no other option but to wait, we went ahead and completed payment and paperwork. The system did not allow the 20% discount that I had claimed as part of the first-time customer promotion. Moreover, a car dolly could not be secured, and instead, a car carrier was being sent. The system would also not allow him to utilize the cost of the car dolly, and I had to pay the full price of a more expensive option than I reserved. Instead of $69, I was charged $175, more than double.Since the Budget office closed at 5pm, we were told to wait in the parking lot for the car transport to show up. Upon being kicked out of the office, we spoke with the TPM, Mark, who assured us that the car carrier was on its way and that, upon our request, he would let us know if it would be delayed.We sat in the parking lot waiting for the car carrier for an hour and half with no update from Mark at any point. It did not arrive until 6:40 - an hour after the ETA we were provided. We had to wait in the parking lot without any idea of whether or not anyone was coming or when.When it finally arrived, we had to hook up the dolly in the dark.The truck that we were given was also not in good condition and clearly older than the other options available. It leaked rain, was dirty, and the engine made noises that made us concerned if we'd even make it to our destination.I will never use Budget Truck Rental again based on the unacceptable way that the reservation was managed, the communication from the staff, and the capabilities of the system to handle adjustments and changes.

On the day of my CONFIRMED reservation I was completely blindsided by the Vine Street Alexandria Office when they told me they had no fn truck available and that I would need to come back the next day. When I didn't wait for the next day they tried to charge me a No-show fee of $75. Don't trust this vendor at all. Booo

Don't rent from here if you actually want a vehicle/trailer. Rented a truck for pickup at 11AM on a Thursday. I called on Monday and confirmed the time, location, and vehicle. When I showed up on Thursday the location was closed. I drove down to the Penske down the road at 515 S Van Dorn St, Alexandria, VA 22304 and they hooked me up and for a better price, I highly recommend you go there instead.

Got scammed by this place. They rented a track for me that didn’t existed. Same for a customer at the exactly same time. Stay away from this scam of a “business”

Don’t EVER rent from Budget in Alexandria. Mathew Craft knew that the vehicle I had reserved was broken days before hand, but never bothered to inform us.When my husband got to Budget to pick up the truck, Matthew said there was nothing he could do except for send my husband in an Uber 30 miles away to the Budget in Dulles that had a truck. When my husband got there, he was informed that they did not have a truck despite what Matthew said. Being stranded in Dulles, he was forced to rent a van to get back home.Budget is refusing to refund us for our expenses or the time the movers were waiting for the truck to arrive. We are out HUNDREDS of dollars.
